Ever since I was a kid, my only goal is to finish my studies and have a work that I really want. It

was indeed a tough and long road until I achieve where I am now. I lived and was raised inside a military

camp and being a soldier's daughter was a big pressure to me, especially that I am the eldest among my

siblings. There are a lot a struggles and challenges that I have encountered when I am in Elementary and

Junior High School. I have experienced studying in both Private and Public School because of financial

problems but despite all those challenges it made me a better person today. I knew the real me and

what I am capable of. In my elementary days I was a consistent honor student despite of transferring

from Private to Public then to Private school again. I may not be an honor student in my Junior

Highschool but I am proud that all my grades are good and I did not have any line of seven in my grades.

And now that I am in my Senior Highschool I realized that I can still show the best in me. From my two

years stay in De La Salle Lipa it was indeed a good experience because I realized that I can do the things I

can't do before you just have to believe in yourself. There are a lot of adjustments when I am in Grade 11

because I am a transferee but despite all those adjustments I have conquered those and now I am proud

to say that I am graduating Senior Highschool with Honors.

There are a lot of children who are incapable of studying because of some reasons like, financial

and family problems. Me and my siblings are blessed and honored because our parents are doing their

best just to send us to a good school which we can study well and have the education we deserve. Our
parents are striving hard to provide our needs although sometimes we all know that the salary of a

soldier is not that big but enough for a family.

Now, I will be facing another chapter of my life as I enter College. I know that there are a lot of

new obstacles, challenges and struggles that I will encounter in my whole College life but these

challenges will serve as my strength to conquer all of these problems I will be experiencing in the future.

There will be a lot of opportunities waiting for me in College wherein I can mold myself into a more

matured and better person. As we all know College education is really important because it will be easier

for a person to get a good work that is why it is important for me to get a College education. Since the

course that I'll be taking up is BS Tourism Management, it will help me to enhance my skills and talent, so

that, if I will be trained properly it will be easier for me to get a work after I graduated. Having this

education will give me a big improvent as this will serve as key to the door that is waiting for me after

four years. It will ipmprove me not only physically but emotionally, spiritually and holistically. For me, it is

not about the school where you are going to, but it is within the person, it is within me on how will I take

this education seriously. Because eventhough you go to a prestigious school but you did not do well then

you did not have a good education. That is why it is within me on how I will make my future because this

time this is my last education that I will be taking up for now so I will my do my best to improve myself

with the help of studying in College.

Taking up College Education will not improve one's life but also the community you are living in.

As I have said earlier there a lot of kids and teens who wants to finish their studies up until College

Education apparently they lack in financial but what they don't know is that there are a lot of scholarship

programs they can apply for. That is why a as a concerned citizen in our community I can somewhat

persuade and educate my fellow youth since I am in my College education by that time it will be a lot

easier to persuade them because I can set myself as an example that financial, family problem and
poverty is not a hindrance in having a good education. In our community, I am Youth Leader, I serve in

our church, in the Youth Ministry and in the Military Ordinariate or the Philippines Commission on Youth,

I will use my power as a Leader to empower the Youth because one of my advocy is to give the cildren a

proper education that they deserve. Jose Rizal once said, "Ang Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng Bayan", then

why not help the children to have a proper education because I believe that education is the key to

success.

Since I will be entering College already I took a lot of entrance and scholarship examination but I

had a hard time on choosing a school where I can enroll since there are a lot of things to consider. One of

the things I need to consider is the miscellaneous and the tuition fee, since I am eldest among my two

siblings there a lot of pressure from my parents and because they are rooting for me they put me into a

situation that I need to get a scholarship since they said that I am good in studying. We are currently

having a financial problem since we are all studying in private school but there is a voucher that can help

my parents from paying our tuition. That is why I need to get a scholarship because next year my

younger brother will be entering college too. Therefore, I can help my parents to lessen the things they

need to pay by getting a scholarship. And so, I prayed to our Almighty God that hopefully I can get a

scholarship wherein I can gain benefits too. It was a good thing that my father is still an active enlisted

personnel God lead us to this assistance. With the help of the AFPSLAI scholarship assistance it will not

only help me in my studies but also my parents as they could be helped financially. It is such an honor if I

will be granted as an AFPSLAI scholar and I will be forever thankful to this instituion because it will help

me to attain my College Education as well as my dreams and goals. And if ever I will pass this scholarship

I can finish my College education and it will help me to do the things I want to do especially my advocacy

about education and to empower the Youth. I will return the favor by enriching and empowering my

fellow youth. And when the time comes wherein I can help other people financially then I will do it with
all my heart. I am now taking this oppurtunity to thank all the people behind this assistance and if ever

that I will be your scholar I am assuring you that I will study hard and do my best.
