Statement
My artwork is trying to make the technology look like a bad thing, a big problem
in my community. I am making a project about the problems there are in my
community, or at least the visible ones. This subject matters to me because I have
seen the way technology grow faster and getting better every day. It is a good
thing but also a bad thing because people are getting more distracted in their
phone and not aware of the world around them. Also the green space is less and
less. L.A is more and more buildings I have decided to name my book, ‘
Distracted from the World ’.

I used my camera, it’s a canon, and i tried to use some angles that I learned in
class. The way that we make the object look superior, and the object look
vulnerable. I was based more on the superior one because I’ve got the idea that if
trash is a big problem, then i’m gonna make the trash look like its more superior
than us.

One of the things that made me do this project would have to be just the
worriness I get from watching people get more and more intreaged in their
phones. Also how people are forgetting the beauty of nature and aren't as
interactive with each other. I’m trying to make my pictures look a bit sad and
true.

My goals as an artist is trying to express myself. Expressing myself through my
artwork, the way I am feeling, either sad, happy, weird, etc. I’m trying to make
my own artwork and make people feel something. Or at least to have something
that makes me feel proud of what I created and hope that I’ve expressed myself
in the right way. I don’t think that i have reached my goal yet since I haven’t
really done much artwork or at least shown to people my different views in
certain things and I think I need more time and practice in order to achieve my
goal.

I have learned more than I expected to learn about how bad things are getting
around my community. The amount of garbage, pollution, and homeless people
is growing. In this project I don’t feel that i did put enough effort in showing how
bad things are. I can see this project in my future and reflect on the bad things
and the great things about it and do better.

(Biography)

Yahir was born in on November 3, 2003.

Yahir has a good interest in photography and is
having a nice experience taking pictures because
feels that this another way that people and he can be
able to express themselves.
Yahir is interested in photography because he really
likes how the photo can have a nice look and have a
big impact on how it makes you feel. Also it is
because he has found an appreciation on the
cinematography of film and fell in aw.
He chose to take pictures of the problem technology
has in our community and how it keeps on getting
better and taking over green space. The reason he
took pictures because he has realized that it is a big
problem in his community. More and more people
are using technology every day not being aware of
the world around them. Also less and less green
space. Which is why he called it ' Distracted from
the World '.
There are many things that he has learned about
photography, which would have to be composition,
color, pattern, and etc. He has also learned how to
work the camera and the different angles that the
pictures can have. Also the way that the angle can
have meaning
