Introduction
In the present atmosphere prevailing all around the world, there are
rapid advancements in every sphere of life. Also the man’s urge for
knowledge and the urgency to solve the ever-growing problems of
human being with mutual consultations and through forums has
broken the shackles of imaginary boundaries of countries. In the
present world, knowledge is now being exchanged freely among
individuals, groups or countries in a much more organized manner.
To bring this exchange of information, thought and knowledge,
several national and international forums have come up to make this
exchange more organized and systematic. These forums are playing
an important role in bringing together nation to resolve their
disputes and promote co-operation in the fields of trade, science,
technology, culture, etc.

Located close to International Airport of Delhi in the fastest growing


sub cities of the Delhi, this proposed Socio-Cultural Cum
International Convention Centre project is aimed to bridge and meet
the long lasting gap of Convention Venue in Delhi and will play a key
role in improving the ability to attract revenue generating
International Conventions to the capital of India and boost the MICE
(Meetings Incentives Conferences and Exhibitions), segment of the
tourism market. The centre will be designed as per the international
norms.

Aim
The aim is to provide the world class amenities and infrastructure
to the city, to invite all sections of society at one single place to
exchange ideas, thought and knowledge for the growth of the
society. To invite corporate to come and have their time at leisure
apart from attending continuous meetings and seminars.

Scope/Objective:

• To generate a vocabulary and design temperament of the


project for architectural expression that will reflect the urban
character of that place
• To promote a platform for interaction between various sections
of society. This would lead to better understanding of each
other’s trade and spread awareness among the people that is
the need of the hour.
• To study urban context of the site and surrounding and mark
distinction wherever required
• To study the climatic responsive design
• To study the socio-economic impact of the project and
incorporate the desired changes in the design
• To create a space where corporate section can come and meet
in informal way and can share ideas & knowledge
• The main objective of designing a convention centre is to help
organizations hire on temporary basis a few common facilities
like auditoriums, seminar halls, lecture rooms, convention halls,
commercial/retail space etc., simultaneously in the same
premise.
• To provide an international platform to the various sectors a
great opportunity through this Socio-Cultural Center cum
International Convention Centre.

Site
Site is located in the Sub-City Dwarka, sector-24. The site is
connected to NH-8 by the 100 meter wide road. The western edge
of the site overlooks the proposed golf course.

Area Analysis
Based on observation during case studies and inferences, areas will
be finalized for different requirements.

• Spaces for Recreational and Cultural Activities
• Food courts/Restaurants
• Banquet garden
• And other requirements necessary for an Exhibition Cum
Convention Centre.

Visit to the site- Gathering information available

Understanding the environment to study research papers

Analysis and conclusion based on the observations made during the


processes mentioned above, evolving the concept, and further
enhancing the design, which can be converted it into reality.
