Dharma Daily Practice

Aspiration Bodhichitta
All mother sentient beings , limitless as the sky, especially those enemies who hate me,
obstructors who harm me, and those who create obstacles on my path to liberation and all
knowingness; may they experience happiness, and be separated from suffering.

I will quickly establish them in the state of the most perfect and precious buddhahood.x3

Action Bodhichitta
Thus until I achieve enlightenment, I perform virtuous deeds with body speech and mind.
Until death, I perform virtuous deeds with my body speech and mind.
From now until this time tomorrow, I perform virtuous deeds with my body speech and mind.

The three physical nonvirtues are:

1. Taking the life of a living being, from an insect up to a human being.
2. Stealing, taking away another's property without his consent,
regardless of its value, and whether or not you do it yourself.
3. Sexual misconduct, committing adultery.

The four verbal nonvirtues are:

4. Lying, deceiving others through spoken word or gesture.
5. Divisiveness, creating dissension by causing those in agreement to
disagree or those in disagreement to disagree further.
6. Harshness, abusing others.
7. Senselessness, talking about foolish things motivated by desire and so
Forth.

The three mental nonvirtues are:

8. Covetousness, desiring to possess something that belongs to another.
9. Harmful intent, wishing to injure others, be it in a great or small
way.
10. Wrong view, viewing some existent thing, such as rebirth, cause and
effect, or the Three Jewels as nonexistent
Refuge and Bodhichitta
To the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha
I go for refuge till enlightened.
May I, through virtues such as giving, (and other perfections)
Attain buddhahood for others sake. X3

The Buddha replied, "There are six: generosity, morality, patience, energy, meditation, and
wisdom."

1. Giving
2. Discipline
3. Patience
4. Joyful persisting effort
5. Concentration
6. Wisdom (emptiness)

The Four Immeasurables

● May all sentient beings, boundless as the sky, Have happiness and the causes of
happiness.
● May they be liberated from suffering and the causes of suffering.
● May they never be separated from the happiness which is free from sorrow.
● May they abide in the state of equanimity, free from the closeness and distance of
attachment and aversion.x3

Seven Limbed Prayer

By homage, offerings, confessing,
Rejoicing, requesting, beseeching,
Even the small merit which I have gathered,
I dedicate all of this to attain complete enlightenment.

Mantra of Interdependent Origination

OM YE DHARMA HETU-PRABHAVA HETUM TESHAM TATHAGATO HYAVADAT

TESHAM CHA YO NIRODHA EVAM VADI MAHASHRAMANAH SVAHAX3

“Regarding dharmas that arise from a cause, the Tathagata taught their cause and also their
cessation. Those were the words of the Great Mendicant.”

All dharma/phenomenon originate from causes.

The Tathagata has taught these causes,
And also that which puts a stop to these causes—
This too has been taught by the Great Shramana.

BENEFITS:

This mantra is used to stabilize the power of blessings in one’s mantra recitation, as well as
to purify dharma practice, especially any misunderstandings of the view.

The Stream Of Blessings The Heart Essence of

the Practice of the Fivefold Path Of Mahamudra
Embraced by the pure, self arisen Vajradhatu mother, joined in the dharma of unchanging
great bliss, in the union of method and awareness, with the implements of the
Sambhogakaya Dharmakaya -
Vajradhara, please be seated on the crown of my head.

From the ocean of milk the 84000 collections of Dharmas, You churned the essence , which
is called the holy fivefold Dharma, I bow down before Phagmodrupa, the skillfull one who
showed the unsurpassable path through which the fortunate ones attain the realization of
Vajradhara in one lifetime.

The natural mode of existence of all phenomena is the central understanding of the Buddha,
the innate spontaneously arisen Mahamudra.

The nature of mind is revealed by the victorious Drikungpa. Father, your heart sons, and the
lineage gurus, Please protect us.
The Common Preliminaries:
Alas this human body with its leisure and opportunity is aquired with great difficulty.
Through it the meaning of life can be achieved.
If I fail to accomplish this benefit,
How shall I ever obtain this perfect opportunity again?
A body such as this is impermanent and will surely die.
This life is imperiled like a butter lamp extinguished by the wind.
Phenomena are momentary, transient and perishing.
Birth in any of the realms of the six classes of beiings
Allows for no chance for happiness, but rather is the cause of suffering.
Because such births are the cause of positive and negative karmic processes of causes and
results..
Those who aspire to liberation should abandon non virtue and accumulate virtue.

4 Ways of Turning The Mind

Homage to the 3 Jewels

The Precious Human Life:

Oh Dear! These freedoms and connections are very difficult to find.
Now that I have obtained this life which is easily lost
I will not be under the power of meaningless distractions,
But I will work diligently to accomplish the happiness that is the result of liberation.

Impermanence:
Composite objects are impermanent, subject to decay.
All transient beings, because of births must die.
The time of Death is uncertain, like dew drops on a blade of grass.
I am ready to persevere to rapidly reach the quintessential goal.

The Cause and Effect Of Actions

Happiness is achieved by virtue
Suffering is the ripened fruit of the opposite.
This is because all things come from causes.
Completely accurate cause and effect is the nature and condition of phenomena.
From Now on I will strive in what should be accepted and what should be abandoned.

The Effects of Samsara

In the 3 lower realms and even the highest realms
There is not even an instant of real happiness.
Abandoning the primary faults that cause straying into samsara
I will accomplish the supreme path of peace.
Refuge in the Merit Field

With one pointed mind take refuge in the 3 jewels

This place is inseparable from the buddhafield known as none-higher.
In front of me is a lion throne with a lotus, sun, and moon disk seat.

Upon this sits the kind root lama in the form of a vajra holder possessing the 7 qualities.

Sky blue color, holding in 2 hands a vajra and bell crossed at the heart.

His legs are in the vajra posture, sitting in a dignified manner,

Adorned with silks and jewel ornaments.
Circled by the lineage masters.

In front Yidam Chakrasamvara,

Yab Yum are unified appearance and emptiness.
Adorned with silks and ornaments.
The buddhas of the 3 times with the signs of Buddhahood are on his right.
Accompanied by all the thousand buddhas of this fortunate era.

In back is Prajnaparamita proclaiming the lion roar of the relative and ultimate dharma
teachings of the triple vehicles.

On the left are the compassionate bodhisattvas and surrounding them are the sanghas of
the 3 yanas.

Around the throne are the Protectors of the holy dharma, an ocean of guardians, like
billowing clouds.

Refuge:
To the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha the Yidams and Dharma Protectors,
all the supreme objects of refuge,
for protection from all the terrors
of the sufferings of samsara,
I go for refuge until enlightened. X3

Bold firm Intention

I will become truly glad when all living beings possess happiness and are relieved of all
suffering and quickly attain the highest state,
For this reason, from this day forward,
until I attain enlightenment
I will continue to travel on the great path of definite meaning.X3

The refuge field dissolves into me.

The Uncommon Preliminaries Part 2 Vajrasattva
Purification:

Above my head is a white lotus with a moon disk and hum syllable:
Which becomes a vajra with a hum in its centre radiating light
Which removes the veils of all beings and makes offerings to all victors.

It returns and merges with the HUM, which transforms into Vajrasattva the essence of our
own Root Lama.

White in colour, holding the vajra and bell.

Majestic in the half lotus pose,
He is perfectly adorned with the jewel ornaments and accoutrements.

Then from his 3 places

Om Ah Hum
Shine lights inviting wisdom beings and the empowerment deities.
The wisdom beings non-dually merge.
(Dzah Hum Bam Ho)
We recite the request mantra to the Empowerment Deities:

Om Sarva Tathagata Abhikhintsa tu mam:

Then the Empowerment Deities Recite:

Om Sarva Tathagata AbhiSheKata Samaya Shri Ye Hum

And bestow the vase empowerment, pouring water , filling his body.
The water overflows from his head, becoming the crown of five families and the
Empowerment Deities then dissolve into Vajrasattva.

VISUALISATION DURING MANTRA RECITATION

At Vajrasattva’s heart is a moon standing upon it, a Vajra with a HUM in its centre , circled by
the 100 syllable mantra.

Light radiates forth and purifies the sins of beings of the six realms.
They manifest as vajrasattva.
The light returns and merges into the mantra and seed syllable.

From them nectar flows from his big toe.

It enters through the crown of my head cleansing all sins, darkness and downfalls, flowing
out my lower openings as if it were a rain of nectar.

My body then fills up with nectar and it becomes as pure as crystal.

OM VAJRA-SATTVA, SAMAYA Oh Vajrasattva, keep your pledge,

Your sins and obscurations are cleansed.
Vajrasattva Dissolves into me:
