hello everybody! How are you today? Fine? That’s good!

My name is
Tran Ngoc Van Anh, I’m from class U3 and I’m here today to talk about
the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Before we jump into anything, let’s try to understand what is an
industrial revolution? An industrial revolution is defined as the changes
in manufacturing and transportation that began with FEWER things
being MADE BY HAND but instead using MACHINES in LARGER-
SCALE FACTORIES.
Throughout history, humanity has gone through 3 industrial revolutions
and is on the verge of stepping into the fourth one. Here is my timeline
for the revolutions: the first one which focuses on STEAM ENGINE, the
second one on LIGHT BULBS, the third one was all about THE
INTERNET and lastly the fourth one which I will talk to you later on.
However, in order to know the future we need to fully understand the
past, so let’s take a trip back to time to visit the 3 revolutions
Whooshhhhhhhhh
Here we are at the first industrial revolution. This revolution began in
Great Britain in the late 1700s, focused mainly on textile: thanks to the
jenny machine, weaving clothes became much easier and faster. Besides
that, people discovered new kind of energy like steam energy and has
used that in steam engine in trains. People can move to places in short
period of time.
Next is the second industrial revolution, started in mid 1800s to the early
2000s. In this revolution, people gain more knowledge of electricity and
one important thing was invented that shook the whole entire world. Do
you know what it was? It was the light bulb, thanks to sir Thomas
Edison, we now don’t have to rely on fire and candles at night anymore.
Mass production was also very popular. Besides the light bulb, there
were other significant invention such as the telegraph invented by
Samuel Morse and the first ever flying aircraft by theWrights brother.
Moving on to the third revolution, happened in the second half of the
20th century, which has the discovery of nuclear power and more
important the BOOM OF TECHNOLOGY. COMPUTERS, LAPTOPS,
MOBILE PHONES, TVS, MACHINES, INTERNET, WIFI AND
SPACE TRAVEL. This has all made up the second industrial revolution.
And now the part we have all been waiting for, the fourth industrial
revolution. This will be the biggest, the grandest, the most advance
change humanity has ever faced. We will experience changes in many
fields such as NANO TECHNOLOGY, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE,
TRANSPORTATION, VIRTUAL REALITY, 3D PRINTING and
especially in EDUCATION. And what will be the changes in education?
Techonological advances will be use in teaching like using tablets and
robots for studying, students will have greater chance to experience, to
study than ever before, new subjects will be teach and many other
things.
With this fast changing pace, future students like you and me have to
learn to adapt quickly, to catch up with the speed of the society. We need
to be flexible and be able to make quick decisions. We need to learn and
how to use techonology devices to aid our study. I believe we all have
the ability to do this.
That is the end of my presentation. Thank you for your listening and
have a great day!
