Anticipatory Set:
Review previous lesson, open with lesson opener from resources for each section, an activity, or relate
concepts to real world.
L2.1-Have students work in groups. They are given 5 rational numbers to place in order on the number
line on the board in the front of the classroom.
L2.2- Sing integers song (same sign add and keep, different subtract, keep the higher value and then
you’ll be exact). Have students work in groups to put together the puzzle on adding integers.
L2.3-Sing song again to review/remember rules.
L2.5-Review properties of addition.
L2.6-Review multiplication rules.
L2.7-What is similar? Write problems of multiplying and division integers with answers on the board.
Guided Practice
Seatwork/Homework: Complete problems for 2.1 worksheet or problems in the textbook. Provide
supplementary materials on order of integers, opposites, sequencing numbers
and absolute value.
