PERFORMANCE TASK: MAPEH 7

PHILIPPINE FOLK DANCE

As a Grade 7 student, you are tasked to perform a selected Philippine folk dance. The class will be divided
into 3 groups. Each group must have a choreographer, leader, and performers. The task is to present the
assigned Philippine folk dance, which can be either Magkasuyo, Tiklos or Alitaptap, and must show its
fundamental steps. There will be a separate grade for the group and individual members. Each will perform
during MAPEH class and will be graded according to the rubrics below.

Skills Dance performed with attention to most details of technique, but hasn't attained 3
(25%) proficiency in dance style yet. Some technical errors.
Only some understanding of technical elements (ie. footwork, quality of 2
movements, body positions) demonstrated in performance.
Although remembers some of dance, little attention paid to how movements are 1
done or other details of dance.
The dancer draws the audience in to want to watch them and is able to engage 5
the audience completely through their performance.
Performance
The dancer communicates with audience through eye contact and facial and 4

The dancer is generally focused, but only some attempt made to grab attention 2

throughout the dance.
Accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences throughout the dance. 4
Rhythm Generally accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences most of the 3

(25%) Shows a basic understanding of tempo and beat, but falls behind and/or speeds 2
up in places or makes errors in rhythm.
Attempts to keep a rhythm, but gets off beat and speeds up or falls behind 1
often. Does not follow beat in music.
