Scholarship
BACKGROUND
During his State Visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia on 13-14
December 2016, Philippine President Rodrigo R. Duterte
announced that the Philippines will offer sixty (60)
scholarships and trainings on science and engineering, as
part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the
establishment of Philippines-Cambodia relations.
This initiative will be supported through the Philippines’
commitment of USD1 million to the ASEAN Science-
Technology-Innovation (STI) Partnership Contributions
pledged at the 9th Informal ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on
Science and Technology (IAMMST-9) held in October 2016
in Cambodia to further enhance STI collaboration and
capacity in ASEAN, particularly through the ASEAN-help-
ASEAN scheme for Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar.
