Artist

Statement:My artwork looks like how it look because I

had to follow a specific composition. I have Rule of Thirds. The
Rule of Thirds is where nothing is in the dead center. It distracts
the person looking at your photograph away from the big issue
it's self. The subject matter is Graffiti. It's a huge topic for me.
The title of my work is Graffiti: Art or Vandalism? Some of
the elements and principles of design are value, space and color.
I created my art using Digital Media(Photography). The
tools provided to me in order to take the pictures are the camera
and the two different lenses. The short lens helped taking
pictures from a short distance. I was able to take good up close
and action shots. The longer lens helped to take pictures of the
site from a long distance. It made the view prettier than it
already was. I was also required to have a SD card and a flash
drive. Some techniques I used were getting on the floor. As
funny as I looked, it helped make the pictures I took even better.
I also went on a really high building with my step dad to take a
picture of site. After taking a few pictures, we were asked to
leave by the security. The elevator ride down was pretty
hilarious. Another technique I used was that I even stood on a
bench to take a picture of another site. The processes were really
hard. I wasn't able to bring my camera to stores. Even if I did
bring my camera, some stores didn't allow me to take pictures. It
was hard because there were some people inside that I could
have used to help with my topic. People's support would have
helped a lot but, that's okay we weren't asked to leave so...
Positivity!!!!!!!!
What inspired me to take pictures were the photos that
my photography teacher showed me. They were beautiful and
inspirational. I could feel and somehow describe what the
photographer is trying to say. The work I am trying to express
has no social issue.

I have a personal issue. What bothers me is the world we live
in. I don't like the fact that people are arrested because of
Graffiti. Graffiti is an art, not a crime. Art is where you can
freely express your ideas. I know I am only 14 but, I have a
voice too. I come from a family where my sister is an artist. She
draws on notebooks, white boards, post-it notes anything she can
get her hands on. My mom will get mad if she wrote on the wall
but she should be able to. Her art is amazing. No one should be
afraid to freely express their feelings. Art is Art. Every artist has
a different choice, different way to express their feelings and
their point of view.
My goal in this artwork is that I inspire other artists. Any
artist can draw on anything they want with permission. Some of
these issues can be political, environmental or racial. Never let
ANYONE tell you what you can and can't do. Never let anyone
define you. If no one will support you, I will. As a rapper once
said "How can the sky be the limit when their is footprints on
the moon?" I hope my piece does what I am hoping. I hope to
inspire young and old growing artists. To be the strong and unite
together as artists, inspiring other artists. You know what you
are capable you just need the extra push and I'm here to help.
In creating my artwork, I learned a lot about the world we
live in. It's not what I thought it would be. My vision changed
when I started growing up. I can't be a kid forever. My final
piece is what I imagined. It is because I am getting my message
through. It will influence my future artworks because I will take
my pictures with an open mind, always.

Biography:Daniella Ramirez Cruz was born in Paramount,
CA in the year 2004 on May 30. Daniella is the oldest out
of the 4 girls her mother raised. Daniella's mother and
father are divorced. Daniella's family live in a one room
apartment with a York shire dog named Kenai. Daniella's
experience in photography started her Freshmen year
attending STEAM Legacy High School. It is her 2nd
period class. Daniella's photography teacher is Mrs.Herrera
Daniella always had an interest in photography. She
always enjoyed taking pictures of a beautiful scenery.
Daniella's phone gallery is mostly of the sun setting or
rising. She also enjoys taking pictures of flowers and her
dog Kenai. He is her model on such short notice. Other
things Daniella takes pictures of is the sky whether it's blue
or gray. It's beautiful. For my her topic Daniella chose
Graffiti. As an artist, we always have to have an open mind
what people see Graffiti as vandalism to fellow artists like
myself it is art. Daniella's younger sister is planning to be
an artist. She wants her sister to have unlimited
opportunities and is doing that through her pictures. In
photography I have learned many new terms. There is so
much Daniella didn't know. She didn't know about ISO,
aperture, and shutter speed. The ISO is like Sunscreen for
the pictures. The aperture is how wide the camera is to take
the picture. The shutter speed is how fast or how slow it is
to take a picture. Daniella has learned a little and has so
much more left to discover.
