Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, Dali didn’t aspire to be like anybody, but some of his
pieces are inspired by the sculptures of Gian Lorenzo Bernini

A unique, surrealist work, that was ahead of its time. It has a lot of attention put into getting the colors
and shapes of the image perfect. The creative idea behind putting something heavy like an elephant,
on something so thin like the thin legs of a spider and have it still be able to be held up is physically
impossible, but Dali made it possible in paint. Also unique because of all the empty space put in
between the two elephants, instead of making them the center of the piece. Overall, its very well
thought out and it doesn't look like any other piece of art in its time.

The last piece that was sold, was sold at an auction with a winning price of $22.4 million.

I think Dali was trying to just draw whatever came to mind in his surrealist paintings, in his more realistic
religious paintings, he was just drawing in the style that a lot of people drew in during that time.

His main movement was surrealism so I will focus on that, Artists painted illogical, unreal things, but
they made it look realistic.

If I could, then I would. Dali is my favorite painter, and his work “The Elephants” is my favorite piece.

Yes, upon further reading, Dali was just a really nice down to earth guy, who just had a few unfortunate
years at the end of his life.
