5. Where did they go to school and what other artist did they aspire to be like?
Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, Dali didn’t aspire to be like anybody, but some of his
pieces are inspired by the sculptures of Gian Lorenzo Bernini
11. How much would one of the artist’s work cost today?
The last piece that was sold, was sold at an auction with a winning price of $22.4 million.
12. What do you think the artist was trying to say with their art?
I think Dali was trying to just draw whatever came to mind in his surrealist paintings, in his more realistic
religious paintings, he was just drawing in the style that a lot of people drew in during that time.
16. If you could ask this artist one question what would you ask?
Where did the ideas from your pieces come from?
17. Would you buy a work of art by this artist? Why or why not?
If I could, then I would. Dali is my favorite painter, and his work “The Elephants” is my favorite piece.
18. Do you think you could have been friends with this artist? Why or why not?
Yes, upon further reading, Dali was just a really nice down to earth guy, who just had a few unfortunate
years at the end of his life.
20. What else do you think we should know about this artist?
Dali never did any drugs to get ideas for paintings.
