The TruLaser 1030 is a CNC laser cutting machine for processing flat metal
sheets. The tool used for this purpose is the laser beam, which is guided
by mirrors to the laser cutting head.
The machine works according to the principle of flying optics: the
workpiece remains in place and the cutting head moves.

Axes directions

Machine frames with sheet metal support

Machine frames
• The rigid machine frame in
conjunction with the traverse across
the machine ensures a stable base
for the entire machine.
• The open frame on both sides
ensures good accessibility to the
entire metal sheet.

Sheet metal support

The working area of the sheet metal tray with the dimensions 3000 x
1500 mm offers sufficient space for all tasks.

Movement unit with Catcher

Movement unit
The movement unit attached to the
crossbeam carries the Y and Z axis
as well as the motor for the X axis.
Rack and pinion systems execute the
traversing movements.
The motor of the Z axis moves the
cutting head through a belt.

1 Movement unit 2 Catcher

Catcher
Slugs and small pieces are caught by a catcher below the work area. The
catcher is attached to the movement unit and is moved parallel to the Y
axis. The catcher also acts as a suction area for all flue gases that arise
during the cutting process.
The catcher also has an automatic removal cycle for all stuck pieces.

TruCoax Laser

Efficient & reliable

The laser consists of the beam
generator and the HF generator.
The beam generator of the TruCoax
C02 laser consists of two coaxially
aligned electrode tubes. Inside the
tubes, the beam is reflected by two
mirrors and travels around the inner
tube. The entire system is diffusion- Beam generator Beam telescope
cooled. A small gas cylinder attached
directly to the jet generator supplies
the laser gas mixture.

The HF generator generates the high-frequency energy required to operate

the laser.

Combined cooling and suction unit

The cooling unit and the suction of the machine are united in one unit for
efficiency and space reasons.
The KLH cooling unit cools the laser with the complete beam guidance as
well as the catcher, the HF generator and the control cabinet.
The suction sucks the flue gases and suspended particles out of the work
area.

Positioning laser diode

A laser diode integrated in the beam telescope of the TruCoax laser
generates a red light spot at the exact cutting position.
With the help of this visible light point, it is possible to exactly approach
the starting point for the next laser cut.

Control panel

The TRUMPF CNC control is based on the PC control of the B&R

Automation PC 620.

• Easy-to-use and clearly arranged control panel. All functions that are
needed in daily operation can be started by pressing a few buttons.
• High-quality TFT color display (thin film transistor) with touchscreen
function.

Teleservice

An online connection via remote access has been set up between the
machine and a technical customer service technician at TRUMPF.
• Remote control • Teleservice • Remote administration • Data transfer

ControlLine
ControlLine coordinates and controls different machine functions centrally:
• Capacitive distance control for constant distance nozzle-sheet metal.
• Automatically measure the work floor position and possibly correct the
coordinate system.

FocusLine
FocusLine is a device for automatic focus position adjustment. The central
component is the autofocus mirror, whose surface is deliberately
deformed by the cooling water pressure. Thereby, the divergence angle of
the laser beam is changed so that a systematic shift of the focus up or
down is made possible.

NitroLine

NitroLine means: Melt cutting with nitrogen and a cutting gas pressure of
max. 20 bar, which expels the melt quickly down.
Recommended especially for machining stainless steel and aluminum
alloys.
