INTRODUCTION

A smart TV is a digital television that is, essentially, an Internet-connected, storage-aware

computer specialized for entertainment.

Smart TVs are available as stand-alone products but regular televisions can also be made “smart”
through set-top boxes that enable advanced functions.

Besides being able to receive cable and satellite or over the air (OTA) transmission passively,
smart TVs are outfited with extra hardware and connection types, as well as a TV operating
system with a GUI. These adaptations allow viewers to access and control features for streaming
content from Internet video services and connected devices.

Typically, smart TVs support Ethernet, Wifi, USB, Bluetooth and flash memory cards from
digital cameras, as well as coaxial cable, HDMI and other audio-video connections. Along with
the OSand apps, the connectors enable on demand video services and access to pictures, music
and video on connected storage devices. Smart TV apps allow connection to websites like
Youtube, Netflix, Hulu and Vimeo and social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

Smart TVs can connect to many potential input devices wirelessly, to enhance usability and
control. Wireless keyboards and mice, cell phones and tablet PCs can all connect to facilitate text
entry, navigation and Web browsing from the couch.

LG Rollable Tv

This is a TV that’s there when you want it and disappears when you don’t. Not everyone loves
having a big, black rectangle as the focal point of their living room, and plenty of people don’t
own a TV at all. TV makers are starting to realize that, for some, it comes down to aesthetics, so
they’re designing products that blend better into the home. Samsung has The Frame, which can
pass as a hanging piece of art on your wall when not in use. It switches between pieces by van
Gogh and other museum-sourced content. Samsung also makes the Serif, which resembles a
piece of furniture, thanks to its built-in shelving unit on top. But those are still very much TVs in
that they’re always just kind of there even if they look nicer.
It drops slowly and very steadily into the base and, with the push of a button, will rise back up in
10 seconds or so. It all happens rather quietly, too. You can’t see the actual “roll” when the TV is
closed in, sadly; a transparent base would’ve been great for us nerds to see what's happening
inside the base as the TV comes in or unfurls, but the white is certainly a little more stylish.
Functionally, LG tells me it hasn’t made many changes to the way the LG Display prototype
worked aside from enhancing the base.

Function/features

Line Mode

where the display will drop down so that only about one-fourth of the panel is showing. You’ll
still have on-screen music controls and the option to control your smart home gadgets in this
mode. LG also includes some mood-setters like a crackling fireplace or rain sounds. I’m not sure
how much use those will get in the real world, but it’s a thing you can do with your futuristic
rollable TV.

It has Alexa voice controls, Apple’s AirPlay 2,and the existing Google Assistant integration
.You can play music on the Atmos speaker system even when the TV is fully rolled up, which is
great. Port selection is on par with other premium LG sets, and they’re all located at the back of
the base. LG is making the move to HDMI 2.1 with its 2019 series, so that’s a big plus in terms
of future proofing this very expensive TV.

rollable display over one of the rigid, standard OLED sets; this is supposed to be up there with
the company’s very best when it comes to brightness, contrast, and features the same second-
generation Alpha 9 processing chip as LG’s other 2019 TVs. You get all of the OLED hallmarks
like perfect blacks, great viewing angles, and a wide mix of vivid HDR color. But we’ll have to
wait for a direct comparison to see if there are any slight performance trade offs.

18-inch OLED display that could be bent and rolled up just like a newspaper. Today, that
prototype has grown to 65 inches in size, with the company announcing that it’s managed to
scale up the tech to the dimensions of a large TV. At CES 2018, LG Display will be
demonstrating the new 65-inch rollable OLED prototype, which also happens to have UHD (aka
4K) resolution.

LG says the TV has been tested to 50,000 rolls up or down. So if you turned it on or off eight
times a day it would last 17 years. HDMI 2.1

New features of Smart Tv

It has the characteristic of a portable television that it is designed to be portable; it is, or should
be compact and light enough to be carried easily from room to room within your home, or
transported to a holiday home or caravan, for example, robust enough to withstand being carried
about, and offer the capability of operating away from a mains power supply for a reasonable
length of time. This of course, overlooks the main functions of any television set; to provide high
quality moving pictures and sound for entertainment purposes. portable TV is able to pick up TV
signals or not, you should be able to use it with DVD players, gaming consoles, VCRs and other
such products It has a build in Rechargable battery that can last 3-4days depending on the
consumption .

This concept where the smart environments of the future will be able to provide ubiquitous
affective communication

It allows the user to interact with several surfaces distributed in the environment (TVs,
smartphones ,camera). In fact, it adopts the Inter-Face framework, which has been conceived in
order to guarantee the compatibility among multiple heterogeneous technologies to turn any
object into an interactive surface6 . In the actual setup used for these preliminary experiments,
the user can share a text, an image and his/her personal emotional state using three different
interfaces: a Smart TV, a smartphone and a laptop. The laptop allows the use of the classical
Twitter web interface with text and images.

The Smart TV is touch-enabled and has a graphical interface that allows the manipulation of the
digital content. The graphical interface allows entering a message, to browse and select images
and to share emotions.

The smartphone(that also connected by software in smart tv) runs a software application for
Android. This application allows the ubiquitous sharing of emotions through text, images and
emotions. As the Smart TV interface, the smartphone induces the user to communicate her/his
emotional state through the facial expression. In this case, the user’s facial expression
recognition is always based on the FACS but it is captured through the embedded front RGB
camera.

Biometric Technology can provide you biometric systems and all the necessary training for a
fully functional use.

Biometrics are automated methods of recognizing a person based on a physiological or

behavioral characteristic. Among the features measured are face, fingerprints, hand geometry,
handwriting, iris, retinal, vein, and voice. Biometric data are separate and distinct from personal
information. Biometric templates cannot be reverse-engineered to recreate personal information
and they cannot be stolen and used to access personal information.

Using a unique, physical attribute of your body, such as your fingerprint or iris, to effortlessly
identify and verify that you are who you claim to be, is the best and easiest solution in the market
today. That is the simple truth and power of Biometrics Technology today. Although biometric
technology has been around for many years, modern advances in this emerging technology,
coupled with big reductions in cost, now make biometrics readily available and affordable to
consumers, small business owner, larger corporations and public sector agencies alike.

These biometric systems analyze various biometric data such as fingerprint, finger vein patterns
or facial recognition, both for physical access control and logical.

fingerprint scanner is a type of electronic security system that uses fingerprints for
biometricauthentication to grant a user access to information or to approve transactions.

Facial recognition is a biometric software application capable of uniquely identifying or

verifying a person by comparing and analyzing patterns based on the person's facial contours.
Facial recognition is mostly used for security purposes, though there is increasing interest in
other areas of use. In fact, facial recognition technology has received significant attention as it
has potential for a wide range of application related to law enforcement as well as other
enterprises.

HDMI, or “High-Definition Media Input,

Is the go-to port for all your modern devices. It works with both video and audio. In addition,
most computers have HDMI capabilities, so you can use an HDMI cable to hook your PC up to
your TV.

video ports

The component video ports are the red, blue, and green ports on your TV, and before HDMI
became popular, they offered the highest video quality.

S-video ports

S-video ports (the black circles with a lot of dots) were used primarily in the late 1990s and early
2000s for video input on TVs. They’re not as common as component video ports, but you might
see them on your TV or computer. If you’ve got an old Nintendo 64 kicking around, it can
connect to this port.

Composite video ports

Composite video (the circular yellow port) is used for standard-definition video. While plenty of
equipment still comes with a composite video connection, you should pass on this portfor the
higher-quality component video or highest-quality HDMI.

Digital audio (optical) ports

This port, which is usually covered with a small flap, sends digital audio to your sound system.
Because it uses a digital format, it’s usually more crisp than RCA Stereo, which uses analog.

Digital audio (coaxial) ports

Like the optical digital ports, the coaxial digital port connects to your sound system to send
digital audio. The coaxial cable is sturdier than the optical port, but HDMI will still be the
highest-quality option.

RCS stereo audio ports

These twin red and white ports are either inputs or outputs for transmitting analog audio.
Sometimes you will see them by themselves labeled as “out” to output audio. If they’re for
inputting audio, you’ll usually find them next to component or composite video ports.

DVI ports

DVI ports are primarily for connecting your computer to your TV. They aren’t as high quality as
HDMI, but most modern DVI are better than VGA. Which DVI cable you can use with the port
depends on the number and arrangement of the pin holes in the port.

VGA ports

If you want to connect your computer to your TV and you don’t have HDMI or DVI capabilities,
you can go with VGA. However, the quality won’t be as good as with those other ports, and
VGA doesn’t support audio, so you’ll need a separate audio connection.

USB ports for on a TV

USB ports on a TV serve a variety of functions, including as an input for USB flash drives and
powering a TV antenna or streaming device. You could even use it to charge your smartphone if
you wanted.

Ethernet ports

Ethernet connections help provide faster internet speeds than Wi-Fi can. If you have a smart TV,
you’ve probably seen this port, which looks like a normal phone-line port.

Ex-Link ports
The Ex-Link is a bit of an oddball port found on some Samsung TVs. Its primary function is to
help Samsung technicians update your TV, but you shouldn’t attempt to do that yourself.
Additionally, about ten years back, Samsung had a motorized TV mount that you could control
by plugging it into the Ex-Link port, but the mount doesn’t seem to be around anymore.
