Many people might be able to connect to the song “Let Me Breathe” not only teenagers
but adults as well. Life is about trying new things, we all grow making mistakes but not
getting a chance to do something and regret it later is a terrible feeling. The lyrics “I
know you've walked in my shoes, And get just what I'm feeling, I know you've brought me up, To
always do the right thing, You don't need to solve all of my problems, I can try Let me feel naïve,
let me feel alive” from the song which best describes how I would want my elders to give
me a chance to try something new. It reminds me of my parents who went through
teenage too but the time period was different that they think that we aren’t allowed to do
things out of our league. It also makes me feel like the song writer was thinking about
his life when he hasn’t gotten a chance to do something he wanted.
The style of the song is like telling a story. The song’s intro is talking about the elders or
someone’s life in the past.“I know you've walked in my shoes And get just what I'm feeling”
the lyrics tells me that the song writer wrote the song with confidence as in while
connecting to the past of someone who has already experienced. The song later on
talks about the positives about someone has done to the narrator. “You have been my
safety My protector from the start, There's no way, no one, Could try replacing you in my heart
‘Cause you've been there for me you've always cared for me And I will never let you down”. The
style has went back to past again and connect back to the present as of how they will
never let their role models down.
The instruments in the song were absolutely amusing that it will make you listen to it
further. The intro starts by electric guitar and the background music reminds me of me
walking on the beach while listening to calm music. As Harris J starts to sing his voice is
so mesmerizing that it feels like your soul is purified. When Harris J incorporates the
lyrics is when the true emotions of us comes out and we tend to feel the song
emotionally. To tie it all in, the lyrics and the instruments which clams our minds and
help us experience a new type of music.
