SPEAKING EXAM: 30% (FIVE TOPICS)

MARKING CRITERIA
Fluency and Coherence: 3 marks
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: 3 marks
Lexical Resource: 2 marks
Pronunciation: 2 marks
TOTAL: 10 marks
REQUIREMENTS

1. Each examinee must choose 1 of the 5 given topics by drawing lots at random.

Note: The selected topics cannot be changed.

2. Each examinee has 5 to 7 minutes for preparation.

3. Each examinee must:

- introduce himself or herself, including his or her names, ages, origins, classes,
majors, and hobbies.

- present a short talk about the chosen topics for 1 to 2 minutes.

- answer 3 (three) follow-up questions by the examiners.

4. Marks must be made available before the examinees sign their names.

TOPIC 1
PART 1
You are asked to introduce yourself, including your name, age, origin, class or faculty,
major of study, and hobbies.

PART 2
You will have to talk about the following topic for one to two minutes. You can refer to
your note at times but you are NOT allowed to read the notes.

Describe a time of the day that you like.

You should say:

what time of day it is

what do you do at that time

who you are usually with

and explain why you like it.

PART 3
You will have to answer THREE of the following questions by the examiner.
1. How do you organize your time?
2. Do you think people organize time in the same way?
3. Do you think it is important to be on time?
4. How do you feel when you are late for an appointment?
5. How do you feel when others are late?
6. Would you say you manage (or, organize) your time well?
7. Do you find it hard to manage your time?
8. How do you think you could better manage your time?
8. If you had more time, what would you do with the extra time?
10. What do you think people would gain if they were better at managing their time?

PART 1
