ASSIGNMENT
TECHNOLOGY IN CLASSROOM
INTRODUCTION
WE ARE LIVING IN A TECHNOLOGICAL ERA AND AS TECHNOLOGY IS GROWING RAPIDLY WE
ENCOUNTER A SITUATION WHEREBY THE ATMOSPHERE IN CLASSES ALSO CHANGES. TECHNOLOGY
MAKES OUR LIVES EASY. WE GET TO COMMUNICATE WITH PEOPLE KILOMETERS AWAY FROM US,
READ NEWS FROM OUR CELL PHONES, WALK AROUND WITH THE WHOLE LIBRARY IN OUR
POCKETS AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON ‘THE WHOLE WORLD IS IN OUR HANDS’…. AS
BORN-FREES, THIS IS OUR NATURAL WORLD.
VEXATION
❖ YES, TECHNOLOGY IS DOING A GOOD JOB AT SIMPLIFYING OUR DAILY
LIVES.
❖ THOUGH IT ALSO DOES A GOOD JOB AT INTERFERING WITH PUPIL’S
CONCENTRATION IN CLASS.
❖ LEARNERS TRY TO STEAL A FEW SECONDS TO CHAT, PLAY GAMES, AND …..
WITH THEIR SMART TECHNOLOGY GADGETS DURING A LESSON.

❖ FROM HIGH SCHOOL WE OBSERVED THAT IT IS HARD TO LEAVE OUR
WONDERFUL GADGETS AT HOME. (NOMATTER HOW HUGE THE
CONSEQUENCES MAY BE.)
❖ IT FEELS LIKE WE LEFT A PART OF US AT HOME WHEN OUR GADGETS ARE
ABSENT FROM SCHOOL. ‘19TH CENTURY TEACHERS WOULDN’T
UNDERSTAND WHAT WE ARE SAYING BUT THAT IS THE REALITY’.
❖ WE WANT TO HAVE THEM WITH US ALL THE TIME.
❖ COMMANDING LEARNERS TO LEAVE THEIR GADGETS AT HOME WILL ONLY
MAKE THEM FEEL LONELY.
HOW DOES ONE CONDUCT A
SUCCESSFUL LESSON WHILE LEARNERS
ARE BUSY ON THEIR TABLETS,CELL
PHONES OR IPADS?
…………AND HOW DOES ONE TEACH
PSYCHOLOGICALLY AFFECTED LEARNERS?
VENTURE:
‘BORNFREES LOVE THEIR TECHNOLOGY’.
WE ARE GOING TO USE THE ABOVE PHRASE TO COME UP WITH OUR VENTURE.
HERE IS HOW:

AS TECHNOLOGY IS CAPABLE OF CAPTURING LEARNERS’ ATTENTION AND


KEEPING THEM INTERESTED SUPER-TEACHERS NEED TO TAKE THAT INTO
CONSIDERATION AND USE IT TO THEIR ADVANTAGE.
IN THE 21ST CENTURY, COMPUTERS ARE
EASILY ACCESSIBLE.
EVEN FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT HAVE THEM
BEFORE.
FOR UNDER-RESOURCED SCHOOLS:
It is understandable, we are from a very cruel apartheid
era where others were not provided with enough funds
to run their respective schools ...AND BECAUSE OF THIS
schools are still trying to catch up. The government
provided communities and schools with electricity
though.
AFFORDABLE AND EASY TO USE
TECHNOLOGY IS AVAILABLE AND CAN BE
SHARED AMONGST TEACHERS IN
UNDER-RESOURCED SCHOOLS.
The gadget we found easily accessible and
easy to use is a projector.
