Many people visit Malacca to see the old buildings there. The most famous building is
called “A Formosa”. The Portugese built it in 1511. Another old building is called “The Stadhuys”.
It was built by the Dutch in 1650. It is a big building with many rooms and halls, stairs and
corridors.

Places of worship are also interesting places to visit. A very old mosque is the Kampung
Kling Mosque. It looks beautiful with its three-tiered roof. The Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, built in
1646, is the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia. There are beautiful carvings inside the temple.

seen today. Another interesting church is the Saint Xavier’s Church, built in 1849. It has two
