Syttende Mai!
May 17th marked Norwegian Constitution Day or as
Norwegians know it, syttende mai (lit. “seventeenth May”),
Nasjonaldagen (The National Day) or Grunnlovsdagen
(The Constitution Day). As always, the Norwegian Flag
proudly flew in front of the Montana Bar with a stiff
east wind displaying it very well. In the absence of the
late, great Paul Monson, his old white Ford was there.
Pictured are Norwegians Louie Monson, Sam Espeland
and Lance Monson. The Constitution of Norway was
signed at Eidsvoll on May 17 in the year 1814.

The next storm system will bring measurable, potentially
significant rainfall, to portions of NE Montana late
Monday into Wednesday of this week. There is still
considerable uncertainty in the storm track, and a sharp
cutoff to the heaviest precipitation amounts may set up
near the Missouri River to highway 200.

Spring concert at GHS tonight
The Glasgow Middle School Music Department
will have their Spring Concert at 7:00 tonight (May
20th) in the Glasgow High School Auditorium.
Featured groups are 6th grade choir and band, and
7th/8th grade choir and band. Everyone is welcome to

In effort to remove stigma attached to mental
health problems the Valley County Mental Health
Committee is sponsoring a Mental Health Walk
Tuesday, May 21st.
The event will start at 5:30 p.m. at the Valley Event
Center. There will be a couple of brief inspirational
presentations, a walk to the Civic Center, opportunities
to gather information, a drawing for a Yeti (thanks to
D & G), a chance to win $25 in Chamber Big Bucks,
free hot dogs & chips, and then, you’ll be on the way
home before 6:30!
Tanja Fransen honored

Office since 2001, Tanja is renowned for her innovation,
leadership, and mentorship. Her award-winning research
has helped Montana’s ag producers.

service. Gianforte highlights the recipient in the U.S. House
