DESALINATED WATER SUPPLY FOR
SPENCE GROWTH OPTIONS PROJECT
1. GENERAL
1.1. Purpose
The purpose of this specification is to cover the subject of the GRP pipe destined for
Desalinated Water Supply for Spence Growth Options Project.
More in detail, the Desalination Plant is formed by the following main units:
• Intake passive screens
• Seawater pumping
• DAF System
• Double stage filtration with 12 filters in the 1st stage and 8 filters in the 2nd stage
• Single pass RO system (4 + 1 units)
• Post treatment system (CO2 dosing and calcite contactors)
• Chemical dosing
• Sludge treatment
This document does not aim to include all the manufacturing details. It is the responsibility of
the Supplier that any manufacturing details, materials and selection of components are in
compliance with the latest applicable design standards, regulations and techniques.
These requirements shall be considered as minimum, and any additional requirement should
be complied with whenever they allow to deliver a complete supply, capable of operating in a
safe and reliable manner in a range of planned modes of operation, complying with the
required guarantees, indicated in the corresponding section, and with all the equipment,
systems or structures necessary for a correct operation and maintenance of the supply.

General Notes
Note(1) :
All thickness to be calculated by piping manufacturer - for a design pressure range from -1 to 10 barg - in
accordance with piping code requirements. Anticorrosion layer thickness should not be taken into account in the
mechanical thickness.
Note(2) :
FRP = Fiber Reinforced Plastic. Isophtalic resin based. Minimum thickness of internal anticorrosion layer = 1.5
mm. Refer to Sketch A.
