Dear Ms.Bickers,
Please accept this letter and following resume for a grant for my associates and I’s product, Splat! I am
interested in this grant because I believe investing in this product would help children and adults all over
the world. Many people suffer from the effects of mosquitos and the bites they leave, which is why our
product is worth investing in. I would like to reduce the amount of mosquito bites for people which, in
effect, would reduce pain. Granting us payment would expand my knowledge of entrepreneurship and
help me become a better entrepreneur.
My academic abilities include taking several Advanced Placement classes and exceeding in many of
them. I have taken Freshman Focus and also Career Management which dealt a lot with entrepreneurship.
I learned a lot of skills that I have transferred over into my actual work. Those classes improved my
ability to problem solve and they also helped expand my creative knowledge. I will be attending North
Carolina State University in the Spring of 2020 where I will be going in for Exploratory Studies. With
that, I can explore different career paths and try to hone in on one. This can be useful because I could
potentially want to go into entrepreneurship or business or advertising. The skills that I have today will
help me in my path to a career.
In addition to my academic abilities, my experience with camp counseling has given me the
opportunity to see firsthand how awful mosquito bites truly are. I have witnessed children suffer from
them while I can only sit back and watch. The pain I have watched those children endure has motivated
me to create our product. Since counseling, I have gained experience with being outdoors that has aided
me in inventing our product. Being in the woods for multiple hours a day has exposed me to just how
terrible and vicious mosquitoes can be. I have also been a lifeguard at Five Oaks for three years. This job
has also allowed me to listen to people’s problems with bites. Again, being outside has allowed me to
open up my eyes and see the world how it truly is: mosquito-infested. This has all encouraged me and my
associates to create Splat! I care very much for the well-being of others and our product is ensured to take
great care of them.
In conclusion, I am excited for the opportunity to be working with you, our potential investor. My
associates and I are all passionate about our product and we would love to execute it. I believe that my
academic abilities and experience have qualified me for the funding. This opportunity will further my
entrepreneur abilities. I hope you make the right choice in investing in Splat! and I promise you will not
regret it.
