A Love Letter to You 3

Trippie Redd

TITLE- Is Trippie Redd a toxic waste of an artist?

In the 3rd generation of Trippie Redd’s albums, A Love Letter to You 3, love and
heartbreak seems to stay the main topic. Although the beats do not match the lyrics they are still
a huge part of the album as a whole. He truly went all out in this album with experimenting in
using different instruments you wouldn’t hear in the previous albums. He has many similar
features from the past but there are some new names featured. He maintains the same vibe and
classic screeches in all songs.

Trippie Redd’s catchphrase of “1400” is always recognized in all songs. What kind of
Trippie Redd song would it be without that saying? It just wouldn’t be the same. With the artist’s
combination of singing and rapping he maintains good flows through out every song. Some
names that are featured are; YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Tory Lanez and Juice WRLD, and a
few others. Each feature made a huge impact to overall outcome. Trippie Redd usually sticks
with his emo rap genre of music when the features each come with their own genre and style of
singing/ rapping.

The most popular song on the album based on charts is the Topanga, which isn’t my
personal favorite but it is still a good choice to make the top charts. The upbeat lyrics and beat is
pretty similar to some past Trippie songs featuring EDM artists. It’s more like an older Trippie
style of song. Along with the romantic/sad heartbreak theme that sticks around in all songs, there
is also a theme of violence. The album is just a huge mix of how the violence comes out through
the heartbreak and how he needs answers to all his pain from the heartbreak.

You can really see how much Trippie has grown up from his very first debut album, A Love
Letter To You 1, and you can especially see it from his very first mixtapes. Trippie started
rapping at the age of 16 and even though he’s only 19 now, his career has really taken off. He’s
made it from being a small soundcloud rapper from Ohio to number 1 hits on the radio. He had
the specialty of being a part of Travis Scott’s tour and many festivals like Rolling Loud in Miami,
FL. His face and name is getting more & more recognizable.

Overall, A Love Letter To You 3 is a very upbeat and hard hitting album. The lyrics can get
very deep and emotional with the topic of heartbreak and violence. The main Trippie Redd
sayings and vibe come in the album and it’s good that even though he is still so young he hasn’t
changed and kept his main focus in his music. I would personally rate this album a 8.5/10, it is
definitely a much more matured album from his previous ones.
