RE: Alexa Escalante

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter to recommend to you Alexa Escalante. I have known Alexa for eight months in the capacity as her
United States Government and Economics instructor at Merced High School. In that time I have known her to be loyal,
independent, and honest.

Academically, Alexa always stays on task and is serious about her studies. She has maintained a 3.4 GPA while attending
Merced High. Alexa has shown herself to be very responsible in my class, always making sure that she has her assignments
completed and turned in on time, and when absent, making sure she gets caught up as quickly as possible.

While at Merced High School, Alexa attended Girls State her sophomore through Senior years. She was a member of the
Key club for two years, and became Med-Tech certified her senior year. She was also involved in sports, playing on the JV
tennis team her freshman year and the varsity soccer team her junior year. Alexa also achieved student of the month
during her junior year. She was also active in community volunteer work while at Merced High, working 120 hours at
Mercy Hospital and 300 hours at the A3K Second Creations thrift store. She also earned her Seal of Biliteracy certificate and
became a tutor while at Merced High.

After high school Alexa plans on going to Merced College and later to a four-year university where she will earn degrees in
biology and psychology. She hopes to someday become a Registered Nurse and her ultimate goal is to become a travelling
nurse.

I am very proud to recommend to you Alexa Escalante. She is a fine student who has great potential in life. She
exemplifies what it means to be BEAR STRONG. I am sure she will continue to do well and someday achieve all the goals
she has set for herself. She is an outstanding young lady.

Respectfully,

Jim Holland
