Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology

Call for Papers

Dear Colleagues,

INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology is very pleased to invite you to
collaborate on the first issue of our journal.

Inspired by (our own) new beginnings and the journey we are embarking on, we propose for
our main theme the notion of Process in Art, Technology, and Theory.

As theoretician Miško Šuvaković suggests in his book Pojmovnik teorije umetnosti (Beograd:
Orion Art, 2011), approaches to process in arts encompass (1) processes with human body and
behavior, (2) processes with objects and their spatial relations, and (3) processes with
transformation of matter and energy. When focusing on the process itself, we would like to
discuss what the possible implications for music, art or technology are in contemporary
contexts. What does going beyond the score mean for composers, performers, creators? We
are interested in your thoughts on the time dimension that process connotes, and inquiries
regarding the gradual development of certain artistic or theoretical ideas. Thus, we invite you
to contribute to topics that include (and are not limited to) following areas:

- Process and/in/as Music

- Processual Art
- Process and Conteptual Art
- Contemporary technological development.

INSAM Journal is structured in three sections: The Main Theme, Beyond the Main Theme,
Reviews, and Interviews. Only The Main Theme section is predefined by the main topic; in other
sections, we welcome your contributions related to contemporary art and media theory, artistic
music, performing and visual arts, technology.
Deadline for full-text submission is 30 September 2018. You will be notified by 15 October 2018
if your topic has been accepted. For detailed information on the manuscript preparation, see
Authors Guidelines. Send your text to br.muzikolog@gmail.com.

Looking forward to our cooperation,

INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology
