We are home to 3,800 students and 660 employees. It is expected that each adult working in the field of education displays the highest moral, ethical and professional standards. If and when any allegation regarding student safety comes forward, the district immediately places the accused staff member on leave, notifies the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and awaits the results of a complete investigation. The majority of allegations are defined by DCF as unsubstantiated. Sadly, today the police announced that through their collaborative investigation with DCF, they have moved forward to arrest a second employee. This is extremely disturbing for all. We will continue to work closely with DCF and the police department. We will continue to actively support students, staff and families through our multi-tiered support systems. Any staff who is not displaying the highest moral, ethical and professional standards will continue to be held accountable through discipline and/or termination. | thank you for coming together to continue to support one another. Somos el hogar de 3,800 estudiantes y 660 empleados. Se espera que cada adulto que trabaja en el campo de la educaci6n muestre los mas altos esténdares morales, éticos y profesionales. Cuando se presenta una denuncia sobre la seguridad de los estudiantes, el distrito inmediatamente coloca al empleado acusado en licencia administrativa, se notifica al Departamento de Nifios y Familias (DCF) y se espera los resultados de una investigacion completa. La mayoria de las acusaciones estan definidas por DCF sin fundamento. Lamentablemente, hoy la policia anuncié que a través de su investigacién colaborativa con el DCF, procedieron a arrestar un segundo empleado. Esto es extremadamente perturbador para todos. Continuaremos trabajando estrechamente con DCF y el departamento de policia. Continuaremos apoyando activamente a los estudiantes, el personal y las familias a través de nuestros sistemas de soporte de multiples niveles. Cualquier miembro del personal que no muestre los mas altos estandares morales, éticos y profesionales seguird siendo responsable a través de la disciplina y/o la terminacién.
