What is Creativity?

 
 
In the dictionary the word creativity is defined as the use of the imagination or original ideas,
especially in the production of an artistic work. To me, Creativity is where someone can express
a thought or a feeling through many ways. When someone is feeling creative they tend to be in
a happier mood. Creativity is shown in many ways, For example: art, books, makeup, and
music.
 
One of the many ways to express creativity is by painting, drawing, coloring, etc. It's amazing
how so many different people can have so many different ideas. There’s a variety of different
colors, and there are so many different skills you can do in a painting. Take Bob Ross for
example, he does all different types of landscape paintings. As Frida Kahlo did more self
portraits

​Next, creativity is shown through writing. It doesn't matter if it's your writing or if it was a book
that you read. When you write your own story you get to make up people and events as you go.
You can also put in your own thoughts and feelings. You may not even write to make a story,
you might be writing about how crappy your day was and that’s what helps you cope with stuff
you’re going through. But if you don’t like to write then you can always read. Sometimes it’s
interesting to read a book and see what the author was thinking at that point in time.

I tend to find myself creative in different ways also. For example, in visual journaling, I would
find myself not doing the prompts but doing whatever comes to my mind. I would mix two
different colors together to see what color I could get from there I would either make it lighter or
darker. I would put different textures as the background. I would use watercolor or acrylic paints
because they are easy to work with and can make bright colors. Even when I make little doodles
in my sketchbook at home, whether it’s writing in different fonts/styles or drawing stupid little
flowers. I use my creative side to think of new way to do it.

Furthermore, makeup can also express creativity. When you go to YouTube and type “James
Charles” or “Nikkie Tutorials” and you scroll through their channels you will find some pretty
amazing videos. Such as “ I followed a Bob Ross tutorial on my face”. These beauty gurus are
constantly inspiring people to show their own creativity using their product or by watching their
videos. People tend to get sucked up into these kinds of videos. It’s very interesting to learn
what you should do comparison to what you really do as far as makeup goes

Finally, one of the best ways to express creativity, in my opinion, is by music. Different types of
music can help express your feelings. One day you may want to listen to rap, then the next day
you may want to listen to country. Listening to the right kind of music when you are mad or sad
can change a person's mood completely.
In conclusion, creativity is the use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the
