This lesson plan is prepared for a class composed by nearly 26 students in the 9 th grade for
developing their ability to express themselves according to their psychological condition with the
help of a variety of technological learning tools. Also, this lesson plan is suitable for students
who have reached the level B1 in terms of proficiency. Thus, all the activities and expectations
3
are designed accordingly.
For this lesson, which is estimated to continue for one class hour, a set of activities are
prepared for helping students express their current feelings and emotions. After making an
introduction at the beginning of the session, the responsible teacher is expected to move on with
the activities which starts with the warm-up activity. This warm-up activity is expected to last 15
minutes. The main purpose of including a warm-up activity in the lesson plan is to prepare
students to the incoming activities and draw their attention the topic by asking various questions
like “How do you feel today?” By this way, it is possible to reveal the topic by making a smooth
transition. Also, introducing the main activity and explaining how the process will proceed is
crucial. The main purpose is to gain knowledge about the students’ emotions with asking some
questions using Mentimeter. Then, the students will be informed about their groupings which
Next, the main activity starts. Students sign up to Padlet. With using Padlet, the teacher is
now able to read each of the students’ writings related to their moods and psychological
conditions in that time of the lesson. L2 performance is heavily dependent with the vocabulary
size and it needs time to be developed (Blake, 2016). Luckily, this is a great chance for students
to develop their vocabulary skills by working with pairs. Training writing, whether it is personal
or collaborative, online or offline, is a staged process which requires constant designing, analysis
and feedback (Blake, 2016). Their ability to describe their conditions with using their writing
skills (which is doubled when they are paired) is the most important part to be developed in this
activity.
This lesson plan considers consistency as one of its core elements. Thus, for helping
4
students stay attached to what they have learned, an assessment supported by its rubric is added
to the lesson plan. This task expects students to create their own blogs using WordPress. With
creating a blog, students will be able to not only discover and deal with a technological tool by
themselves, they will also be able to post and review their previous assignments which can
consist writings, voice recordings etc. For this lesson plan, students are expected to post their
work done in Padlet. After that, students have to comment on at least 2 of the posts which are
owned by their classmates. By this way, blogs can be used as a tool for critical thinking and
interpretation about other people’s opinions and gaining new perspectives in terms of the various
ways of using technological learning devices. Being able to see and think on other people’s
writings will help students to understand the concept discussed in the classroom in a deeper
level. Also, computers and tools like WordPress can help students to motivate themselves by
finding out how they learn more efficiently and this makes the learning process more enjoyable
(Pallut, n.d.).
