1.0 NAME OF THE COMPANY

The cafe name is ‘Love Hate Café’. A love–hate relationship is an interpersonal

relationship involving simultaneous or alternating emotions of love and hate for something

particularly common when emotions are intense. Same goes to the coffee itself. From our

observation, not every people loves coffee because of its bitterness, however the people keep

drink it even though they are not like it because of some reason such as to keep the eye fresh

whenever they want to stay up for study. So from that we recognize that they needed the

coffee even they do not like the coffee itself. As we know that caffeine gives harm for our

body, that is why some people refuse to drink something relates to the caffeine, but from the

other side, caffeine have also bring the goods to our body such as it can make us smarter.

This is good for student to keep drink coffee because caffeine in the coffee blocks an

inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain, which has a stimulating effect. Controlled studies

show that caffeine improves both mood and brain function. Moreover it can make people stay

focus on what they want to do. Next, coffee can help people to burn fat and improves

performance. Many fat burning supplement out there that used the caffeine as the ingredient

because caffeine raises metabolic rate and helps mobilize fatty acids from fat tissues. It can

also enhance physical performance. On the other hand, coffee is loaded with nutrients and

antioxidants. Many of the nutrients in the coffee beans do make it into the final drink, which

actually contains a decent amount of vitamins and minerals.

One cup of coffee contains:

6% of the RDA for pantothenic acid (vitamin B5)

11% of the RDA for riboflavin (vitamin B2)

2% of the RDA for niacin (B3) and thiamine (B1)

3% of the RDA for potassium and manganese

It may not seem like much, but if you drink several cups of coffee per day then it quickly

adds up. But that’s not all, coffee also contains massive amounts of antioxidants. Despite of

the negatives effect of the caffeine, we tense to see there are a lot of positives effects of the

caffeine to our body. That is why our cafe name is ‘Love Hate Café’.

2.0 TYPE OF BUSINESS

Our business is setting up a halal cafe in Alor Setar, Kedah. This business is a product
and service oriented. Our cafe provides various types of food and beverage with excellence
cleanliness, taste and value of pricing. We also offer special services such as delivery and
drive-through area. Our targets are the majority of the working people and local students in
the city which will be easily attracted to the cafe where they can enjoy their breakfast, lunch
and tea time with peace and serenity. Moreover, they can conduct meetings and discussions
in our comfortable environment.

Besides, we intend to offer a healthy, quality and hygiene food to the customers and it
will cater their needs in the industrious lifestyles. Our food is specially made by two
professional chefs and will be served with welcoming atmosphere. Furthermore, this cafe will
be privately held by five partners with appropriate salary for each position. This cafe will be a
rented property. As we the owners will be accountable for managerial tasks and sharing risks
in any kind of situation that may occur throughout the business.

There are three reasons of setting up a cafe in Alor Setar, Kedah which are the
concept, operation hour and extra services. Firstly, the concept that offers tranquility in a
busy city. We set up our cafe with warm and cozy concept to attract students and working
people as our cafe is nearby Open University Malaysia (OUM) and banks. We decided to
decorate our cafe with suitable and comfortable furniture and paint the wall with refreshing
colour to give our customers a moment to take a break from the busy city. This concept is
suitable for those who seeks for relaxing and stress relief place.

Next, the unusual business operation hour. Our cafe opening time is much earlier thus
this will give us competitive advantage as there are no cafes that open at 7.30 am within the
area. Moreover, we are the first dealer who can offer people with delicious breakfast such as
variety of sandwiches and hot coffee to start up their day. The last reason is the extra
services that will be special provided for customers. Nevertheless despite the fact that our
cafe is located in the middle of the city, we provide delivery service for those who do not
have time to buy their food and beverages. Furthermore, we also build a drive-through area to
make it convenience and time saving for our customers so they can avoid of being late to
work or class.

3.0 VISION, MISSION, SLOGAN AND MOTTO

Vision

An ultimate coffee shop with highest-quality products, most inviting stores and the friendliest
staff.

Mission

1. To make astonishing dining and to delight our customers every time by creating
engaging experiences straight from our heart.

3. To make Love Hate Cafe into a genuine place in every area we open in.

Slogan

Our slogan is ‘Have it your way’. It is because the customers can customize the orders to suit
their preferences which will satisfy each of their needs and appetite.

Motto

Our motto is ‘Enhance, Experience, Enjoy’. It is because due customers may enhance their
flavour buds by having or products of coffee and cakes, experience the flavourful dining and
enjoy the experience happily.

4.0 LOGO

Coffee

The main things in our café are a coffee itself. We are more focus on the drinks. So we tend

to put the main things to make it easier for the customer to see.

Pink background

The colour pink represents caring, compassion and love. The pink colour stands for

unconditional love and understanding, and is associated with giving and receiving care. Since

pink is a combination of red and white, both colours add a little to its characteristics.

Moreover the colour pink is the colour of universal love of oneself and of others.

Red Letter of ‘LOVE HATE CAFÉ’

Red is the colour of fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, war, danger, strength,

power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love. Red is a very emotionally intense

colour. It enhances human metabolism, increases respiration rate, and raises blood pressure.

5.0 CAPITAL FUNDING AND SPENDING

Financial Part

The capital of the company is RM350,000. The source of the capital is from the owner’s
savings and a bank loan, where RM250,000 is from the bank loan and RM100,000 from the
owner. First, we are going to spend RM 2,000 for apply company license. After that, we will
deposit RM 50,000 in our company account and spend about RM 1,000 for promotion
activity. The rest of capital will be used to start up the shop, which includes paying rent,
renovating the shop and all other necessities required. Besides, we have also have make a
budget for the first month expenditure for our company which include utilities, staff`s salary
and rental fee for slot rental in Alor Setar.

After the discuss, we had decided to appoint one of us, Chong Wai Ping as Finance Director
for our company which will in charge in financial activity of our company. The statement
below will roughly picture the cost of starting up and maintaining the company for its first
month of operation.

7.0 JOB DESCRIPTION

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)


Name: Nur Emylia Eberahim

Responsibility of Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The first responsibility of chief executive officer is to create the vision of the
company. Chief Executive Officer has an overall responsibility to communicate and
implement the vision and mission of the company. Besides that, CEO must develop and
implement of company’s strategy.

Next, the CEO also has the responsibility to make good decisions that bring increase
in term of productivity of the company. The decision made by the CEO must bring out the
values of the company so that the image of the company can be enhanced. The evaluation
performance of workers usually done by the CEO as well.

Moreover, the CEO must take an active role in driving the company’s performance.
This requires maintaining a keen awareness of the company's industry and market and always
be in touch with the core business functions to ensure the proper execution of tasks.

Finance Manager
Name: Chong Wai Ping

Responsibility of Finance Manager

The first responsibility of a Finance Manager is budgeting. Finance Manager will


manage the Love Hate Café’s budget. The Finance Manager also make reports on variances
from the established budget and provide explanations to the management. Finance manager
need to assist the management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction.

Next responsibility is to make financial analysis. Finance Manager needs to interpret


the company’s financial results and suggest an improvement activity to the management. It is
important to manage the capital budgeting process that are based on constraint analysis and
discounted cash flow analysis.

Third responsibility is to help the management to make financial decisions.


Responsibility of Finance manager is to monitor a company’s finance, prepare financial
statements, forecasts and business activity reports.

Marketing Manager

Responsibility of Marketing Manager

First responsibility of a Marketing Manager is setting understand the segment of the


market. Marketing Manager analyze market trends and recommend changes to marketing and
business development strategies based on analysis and feedback of previous time to improve
product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market
opportunities.

Developing marketing strategies are to engage with the company while aligning our
marketing strategies with our larger business objectives.

Third responsibility is conduct market research. Marketing Manager responsible


conduct through market research and analysis by determine what strategy to use for the
clients in the company. Identify opportunity always if the priority to understand the
preferences of the customers.

Operation Manager

Responsibility of Operation Manager

An Operation Manager is involving in overseeing the production of the goods and


services. Operation Manager must ensure that the company is running well with s smooth
efficient service that can meet the expectation and needs of customers.

Second is planning. Operation manager must determine which products are the most
saleable. Operation Manager has to align with marketing department to determine the price
and the promotion to engage in.

Operation manager oversees the implementation of payroll policies and procedures,


for example how much employees are paid. Operation manager regularly review financial
statements to ensure that the company is operating as efficiently and as profitably as possible.

Communicate with the management level how the business run and putting all the
report analysis that are essential for the top management level.

Service Manager
Name: Vidya Kesavan

Responsibility of Service Manager

Service manager is responsible on provide the information of customer about the food
and beverages. Besides. Service Manager is responsible to send the staff out for training to
improve the service in the company. Throughout these training, our company can build a
good reputation for our company and can build brand loyalty and the repeat purchase can be
occur in our company.

Next, Service Manager can increase sales across all the channels through effective
hiring, training. Service Manager responsible taking care of any customer concerns or
complaints quickly and professionally.

Moreover, Service Manager is responsible of the service desk problems and improves
current service desk to increase productivity and customer service as well. Also, provides
highest level of customer service with a sales-minded attitude while developing lasting
customer relationships.

8.0 LOCATION

Our cafe is located at Jalan Tengku Ibrahim, Bandar Alor Setar, 05000 Alor Setar
Kedah. Our target customers are the people who lived in Alor Setar and also the workers and
students near the cafe area. There are three reasons we choose this location which are the
environment, surrounding community and the facility provided around the cafe.

The first reason is the environment. There are a lot of business premises that operate
near our cafe such as clothing store, bridal boutiques and pharmacy. People often come here
to shop, most of them shopping for cloth because the clothing stores here are famous for its
lowest price. Furthermore, during school holiday, the number of customers visit this area
increase drastically caused by the promotion held by most of the store here. Besides, there are
also police station, banks, university and train station in the area so with these businesses and
firm, this location becomes a strategic place to open our cafe.

After that, the second reason is the surrounding community. Since the surrounding
of the cafe area has various types of business, firm and also educational institution so we
expected to be lots of people such as workers, students and others will be interested to come
to our cafe. As for the workers who always busy with their pack schedule, we offer delivery
services and our cafe also suitable for students as a relaxing place to hang out with their
buddies. We believe that the surrounding community will give us opportunity to gain more
profits as we have customers from different ages.

The last reason is the facility provided. Near our cafe, there are a quite big bus stop
and many people drop by so that the facility become an advantage for us to attract more
customer. Our cafe can be a nice place for people to take a break and rest while they wait for
their bus. Other than that, there are also plenty of parking spaces available to provide
convenience for the public. People nowadays prefer to go to a place that provides this facility
because they do not like to wait around just to get a parking space so with the facility
provided, we assure that we will reach the number of monthly target customers to the cafe.
