5 Mineralised Zones
Number of Mineral Zones Massive single unit.
Geologically the study area (CAK block) consists
of Narji limestone. The regional strike of the
formations is WNW-ESE with a dip of 40 to
Trend (Dip and Strike)
80towards NE. The outcrops present in the study
area are only Flaggy limestone which is dark to
light grey in colour. Flaggy limestone is being
used for roof and floor/pavement slabs. Apart
from Flaggy limestone, Shale is also present in
NW part of CAK block.

6 Accessibility
The nearest rail head is Tadipatri, 32 kms from
Nearest Rail Head
Kolimigundla.
The area can be approached from Kolimigundla
village by metal road. The interiors of the block
can be reached either by cart tracks or by foot
Road tracks. Kolimigundla is a small town and
represents the revenue divisional headquarters.
From Hyderabad, Kolimigundla is located about
364 kms SSW by NH7/AH43.
Kadapa Airport is located at a distance of 110km

7 Hydrography
The availability of water for both household and

8 Climate
The place gets rain from the SW monsoon during
July to September. Some amount of rain fall can
be experience in the October and November as
Mean Annual Rainfall well. Winter season is from December to
February. January usually the coldest part of the
year. Temperatures range around 280 C to 300C
during this time.
Summer season in this area is from March and
lasts till the end of July. Conditions are generally
dry during this period and temperatures range

maximum 400 C to 450 C. Heat wave is common
in the area in the month of May.
