Intent to Register for Writing Workshop

English  majors  who  wish  to  pursue  the  Creative  Writing  track  must  first  be  admitted  to  the  track.
Majors  who  have  been  admitted  to  the  track  may  register  for  300-‐level  writing  workshops  but  are
expected  to  indicate  their  intention  to  do  so  before  the  beginning  of  the  pre-‐registration  period.

• If  you  are  already  in  the  Creative  Writing  track,  use  this  form  to  notify  the  English
department  of  your  intention  to  register  for  a  300-‐level  writing  workshop.  Submit  the  form
by  the  due  date  for  applications  to  the  track,  announced  each  semester  on  the  English
department  website.
• If  you  are  not  already  in  the  Creative  Writing  track  but  would  like  to  apply  for  admission
to  the  track,  or  if  you  would  like  to  apply  for  admission  to  a  300-‐level  workshop  without
applying  for  the  track,  use  the  “Writing  Sample  Cover  Sheet”  available  from  the  English
department  office  or  website.

sample  of  your  best  writing  in  the  genre  of  the  workshop  that  you  plan  to  take.  If  you  intend  to
register  for  a  poetry  workshop,  attach  3-5  of  your  best  poems.

This  form  is  not  an  application.  However,  by  completing  this  form  and  attaching  a  sample  of
your  writing,  you  will  help  make  your  workshop  a  successful  experience  for  all  participants.
