LESSON PLAN IN HANDICRAFT PRODUCTION GRADE 7

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding on the principles and concepts of
recycling.

Performance Standard
The learners understand and create recycled project.

Objectives
1. Define recycling
2. Enumerate and differentiate the types of recycling and its advantages
3. Create a recycled project.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


a. Topic: Recycling
b. References: Learner’s Module in Handicraft Production (Exploratory
Course) Grade 7 Pg. 45-46
c. Materials: Laptop, Projector, Visual Aids, Chalk and Board

B. Activity

1. Motivation
The teacher will show four (4) pictures and there will be a quote that the
students need to complete once they have understood what the pictures are all
about.
Answer: “There is cash in trash.”

2. Discussion
“Recycle” and its types will be defined. Pictures will be shown for better
understanding of how materials are being recycled.

C. Analysis
1. What is Recycling?
2. How is recycling advantageous to our environment?
3. Why is recycling important to be part of today’s and younger
generation’s modern world?
D. Abstraction
The teacher will show pictures and the students will need to categorize them
whether as Internal Recycling or External Recycling.

E. Application
The Students will create a recycled material called “Pencil Bottle”. The students
will then explain the process they had and materials used on doing the project.

The students will be graded according to this rubric:

Rubrics
Creativity 50%
Originality 20%
Presentation 30%
Total 100%

F. Assessment

Directions: Tell whether the following shows internal or external recycling.


Write IC if internal recycling and EC if external recycling.
1. Old newspapers turned into basket.
2. Melted excess metal cuttings turned into ornaments.
3. Empty plastic bottles turned into lanterns.
4. Recast tube ends and trimmings turned into copper tubing.
5. Empty cans turned into flower vase.

G. Assignment
Bring recycled products that could be found in your house and discuss to
the class the recyclable materials used on them.
