This week was a week of firsts. I went to my internship for the first time today on

Wednesday, where there was no school because it was Yom Kippur. I worked for eight hours

there. I ended up doing seventeen pages of paperwork and I shadowed the medical students and

Dr. Agwuna. I saw a three year old child, a two month old baby, and a twelve year old boy. With

these three cases, I saw overeating, obesity, allergies, and diabetes. I learned a lot of new things,

mostly why they do certain things during the examination process of the kids. I also learned that

at six months, a baby should double their birth weight. The people in the office are very close

with each other. They all eat lunch together, and they invited me to come along.

This Friday was the first home football game that the marching band performed at for the

halftime. I was at school for fifteen hours. I think I have made a name for myself in the

leadership category. The freshmen see me as an example, for example if they see me head

towards rehearsal, they will follow. I spent a lot of time yelling and trying to organize people
into rows, and making sure that we would get on and off the field when we needed to. The time

spent at the football game got me closer with the underclassmen flutes. I sat next to Maduv and

the freshmen, and they had to listen shrieks and yelling in a British accent and my nature

commentary of what was going on during the game. “We are on the grasslands of River Hill,

where our grass is made of plastic. The animals are getting ready, and their butts go in the air.”

That is how I started every time. I compared the team with the ball as the gazelles, and the team

without as the lions. And the ball was known as a hunk of meat.
