An artist on the rise, Khalid has yet again proven why he hasbecoming as mainstream as
he is. He has won numerous awards including being nominated for a grammy. His newest album
release Free Spirit, included a song that furthered his popular career. His song Better continues to
play on high demand as it is on the top 100 list for both pop and Hip Hop. The song’s popularity
The song gives off calm vibes as the instrumental is very soothing. The lyrics of the song
also speak out to the newer generation as they address our issues with love now. The song makes
mention of smoking weed as he states “I got so high the other night, I swear to God, I felt my
feet leave the ground,” this song as tons of mentions of a heavenly feeling - as marijuana
enhances one’s sense of as he mentioned “floating.” Khalid makes a comparison between the
feeling of being high and love as both are the ultimate “high” - when you feel your best. Khalid
