# Procedure of Bracing System elements connection Check

1. General

## Step 1. Using following design load

-100% shear and 100% axial (static)
If the connection capacity carry the design load, then PASSED.
Step 2. CLASSIFY whether “Baem” or “Bracing system elements”
N M1 M2 N
Using + + = r < 1 and > 0.3r
Na M 1a M 2a Na

As commented by S/R, the beam members that attach guide post are connected using “full
tension capacity”

## Step 3. If classified as Beam members,

check the connection capacity using following design load,
75% shear and 75% axial (static + modal)

## Step 4. If classified as bracing system elements,

check the connection capacity using follwing design load,
75% shear and 75% axial (static + 2.5modal)

## Step 5. If connection type is classified as follows :

Cilp Angle Type : check the connection with 3.98 ton(Double Angle Capacity)
(Ref. “Calculation of Clip Angle(L100X100X10) capacity with prying effect”)
Shear Connection type : check the connection with 4.54 ton(Bolt Shear Capacity)

## Step 6. If guide post elements are :

check the connection capacity using follwing design load,
the Load Capacity coming form Guide Poster
2. Reinforcement

## Step 1. Use following reinforcement type Design load/ Angle Capacity

For Type 2, 20, 200, 2000, 50, 500 : the design load is Max force from analysis
For Type 3 : angle capacity increased 4ton / bolt(Refer to Angle Capacity of Type 3)
For Type 30 : angle capacity increase 6.5ton/bolt (Refer to Angle Capacity of Type 30)
For Type Special : the design load is Max force form analysis

## Step 2. Select Reinforcement Type

(Ref. “REINFORCEMENT OF BEAM CONNECTION”,
Consider the interference with others(Brace, Handrail and grating etc.) and choose the
Proper reinforcement plate type in the sketch “REINFORCEMENT OF BEAM
CONNECTION”. )

## 3. Connection of beams with Guide Post

Step 1. Calculate Design force using the Load Capacity coming form Guide Poster
Step 2. Calcuate the required minimum strength of reinforcement connection
Step 3. Select Reinforcement Type
Step 4. Check plate and weld capacity reinforced
