Edible garden

Edible landscaping is the use of food-producing plants in the residential landscape. These
landscapes are created with consideration for the aesthetic value of edible plants, in addition to
their food producing benefits. At faculty mechanical, there are several places which can be used
to implement the edible garden such as Laman Ilmu (Level 3), roof top (level 20), and place 3. The
main objective of the edible garden is to;

1. To provide fresh, nutritious, and affordable foods for students, staff, and faculty
community members.
2. To demonstrate replicable sustainable food production model(s) that contribute to
biodiversity and ecological integrity of the campus landscapes.
3. To foster knowledge and skills related to growing food and restoring degraded lands in the
community, creating hands-on academic and research opportunities.
4. To generate income a

Profitable edible garden needs continuous maintenance, adaptive management, and also
funding to maintain its sustainability. There are several things that need to be consider such as
location, space, and also time and care because growing foods involves planting, watering, and
harvesting.
