Dear Bros in Christ,

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
Brothers in Christ, this weekly encouragement is sent and meant to be an encouragement to all and to build up and edify in the Lord Jesus Christ. Oikodome means "Builder". The Lord has put this on my heart to send out
a monthly Iron Man Oikodome {oy-kod-om-ay'} to build up and encourage the men who love and follow Jesus Christ in their walk with Him.
Hebrews 3:13 "But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness."
PRAYER REQUESTS: If you have any prayer requests please send them and I will send them out to the bros for prayer, if privacy is needed I will send in a discreet way.

“Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, "Arise, go to
Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you." So Jonah
arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was
an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent. And Jonah began to
enter the city on the first day's walk. Then he cried out and said, "Yet forty days,
and Nineveh shall be overthrown!"” [Jonah 3:1-4NKJV]

“SECOND CALL”
Bros now we can see the results of God’s tender mercies in what happened first in Jonah then
the people of Nineveh and now the king. Gods demonstrates His great love after chastening
Jonah and bringing him to the brink of sure physical death had the Lord not heard his
prayers as Jonah cried out from the belly of Sheol. The Lord heard those cries, pleas and
prayers of Jonah and brought about a miraculous exit strategy. The Lord spoke to the fish
and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

When you realize we all have done what Jonah has done, we have been disobedient when we
know the Lord has called us to do something for His Kingdom and we deliberately run away
from that first call. And yet here we read of a great second chance where God allows an
abundance of fruit- the whole town repents and gets saved.

I look at this and say man did Jonah blow it big time, I mean he ran from God so fast and got
on a ship to Tarshish so fast it makes your head spin…only to be thrown in the deep and
swallowed up in a place where he definitely was alone with God. He thought he was in hell,
but really he was in a prayer closet and you know there may be times we feel like we are in
hell, hopefully we can do like Jonah did pray and cry out to the Lord and use that hellish
situation to turn more fervently in prayer to God. In reality it is better to run to God than
away from God, as David found out, there is nowhere to run, you cannot escape God.
Psalm 139:7-10 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I
ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the
wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall
lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.

We firstly disobey God, then we reap the consequences like Jonah, and then repent like
Jonah from a broken and contrite heart and what does God do? He shows the most powerful
merciful second chance and saves Jonah, the people of Nineveh and the king of Nineveh and
God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring on them, He did not do it.
Don’t ever think Gods mercy isn’t for you; imagine if God sent you to save your city would you
believe Him? Would you run and try to hide or be obedient to that first or second call? Don’t
imagine it bros because it is true- He did send you. Matthew 28:18-20
