or size needed to obtain gauge

gauge

24 sts and 30 rows in 4” / 10 cm

This shawl is a parallelogram and increases

and decreases are used to obtain the sloped
points at either end. It can be easily modified
by doing more increases in section 1 and
knitting the body longer. Note, however, that
this will affect the required yardage.

notes

As a point of reference you may want to weigh your skein before you begin, then, weigh it again once you finish
section 1 (increases) so that you have an idea of how many grams you used. You will then need to ensure that you
leave the same amount of yarn to complete section 3 (decreases) with a few extra grams as a safeguard.

We used 31 grams. If your gauge or yarn is different from our sample, then the amount of yarn needed to
complete section 3 will be different than what we used.
