Shielding

Shielding is a method involving placing up a psychic shield around you. It keeps you from being psychically
attacked and repeals simple curses placed on you. They can be very effective and I insist that everyone put
one up.

Putting up a shield can be simple or complex. It really depends on the shield as you can make them very
detailed and the more it is the better it works. The most simple is visualizing a blue or white bubble around
you. Focus on the concept until you can actually sense the energy of it and know that it is stable. You want
the shield to remain even when you are not actively visualizing it. Sometimes it can take a few tries before it
stays up. Most witches will take time once a month to strengthen their shields as any psychic attacks can
weaken them if it is powerful enough.

So what exactly do I mean by psychic attack? Well, anything from someone trying to read you mind, simple
magicks designed to manipulate you, psi vampires, general negative energies and etc. Your shield will
protect you from all this and more.

Now like I said the more complex the shield the better it works. The next step up is that when you visualize
the shield, you imagine how it works - bouncing away attacks or even sending them back to the user. The
step after this is customizing the shield. Design it to the way you want it. It doesn't have to be a bubble of
colored light.

Some examples of what a shield can be are blue flames that surround you, full on body armor, wings that
wrap around you protecting you completely, and etc. My personal shield looks like the weather when viewed
from space. It is always moving and litterally absorbs negative energies that are sent my way. It then takes
the energy and recycles it (much like rain water is) to full my shield. When a person places an attack on me -
lighting strikes in my shield destroying the attack. I'm not sure where I got the idea from, but it works for me.

So, now I want you to try out the simple shielding first. However, I want you to start coming up with a more
complex shield that you want to try and tell me about it. Then we will move on to protective talismans and
symbols.
