• Screening assessment for literacy given 3 times per year; Fall, Winter, and Spring
• K-1 students are assessed on four subtest of early literacy
- each subtest is weighted high, medium, or low to give students a composite
score
• 2-5 students are assessed on a curriculum- based measure (CBM);
- 3 reading passages
- students have one minute to read each passage
- fluency and accuracy are determined by the median score
• The benchmark (fluency and accuracy) is set for each grade level and increases
with each assessment

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)
• Students in 2nd- 5th grade take the MAP test three times per year
- Fall, Winter, Spring
• In the fall when students take the test, the test adapts to their
academic abilities
• A growth projection is given for each student when they complete the
test
- this growth projection is to keep students in the same percentile
