Original Award Pending. These funds are in addition to the NSP Enhancement funds awarded the

Enrichment Services (C.A.R.E.S.) facilty will be 20,000
sqft of indoor usualble space with additional 3,000 sqft
of outdoor recreation space, with 10,000 swft of open
outdoor space for programmed activities. The indoor
space will consist of ten main areas: lobby, open
recreation area, gym/multipurpose, physcial therapy
rooms, occupational therapy room, speech room,
sensory/music room, fitness room, office/storage, and
bathrooms. The outside recreation area will consist of
basketball coursts, sand area, horizantal climbing wall,
fully accessible playground equipment, shade structure,
open area, therapy pool. One if four individuals in
Surprise possess some type of disability. This
groundbreaking concept will foster emotional,
intellectual and social skills in a nont-threatening,
cutting edge sensory perception environment.

Design Concept Report and Final Design


This project involves widening from ½ street to full cross
section & a new Traffic Signal
Design, permitting, and construction of a total of 25
recharge wells at the South Water Reclamation Facility.
Recharge wells are used to achieve a sustainable water
resource portfolio by pumping reclaimed water into the
ground. 5 wells were scheduled for completion in FY2008,
with the remaining scheduled for FY2011 - 2014 with
$600,000 planned for each year in FY2011 - 2013 and
$4,200,000 in FY2014.

Booster Station located on Litchfield. This project is in


support of the Surprise Center Infrastructure. It will
provide reclaimed water to City Park and Stadium as well
as increase pressure in the reclaimed water system in the
Surprise Center area.

16-inch Water Line along West Tierra Buena, from Bullard


Avenue to South Civic Center Drive. 16-inch Water Line,
16-inch Reclaimed Line and 15-inch Sewer Line along
North Civic Center Drive, from Paradise to Elm Street. This
project is in support of the Surprise Center Infrastructure
and also a roadway project to construct North Civic Center
Drive. The Water Line along Tierra Buena complements the
recently completed Phase 2 upgrades at the Ashton Ranch
Water Supply Facility (WSF) that includes 13,000 gpm
pumping capacity and provides additional waterlines to
distribute the water.

16-inch Reclaimed Line along Cactus Road from Dysart


Road to Litchfield Road. This project is an extension of the
reclaimed system to provide reclaimed water to the
industrial areas of Surprise Pointe, Summit Business Park,
Cactus Commerce Center and Skyway Business Park.
16-inch Reclaimed Line along Parkview Place from
Paradise Lane to Greenway and a 16-inch Reclaimed Line
along Greenway Road from Bullard Avenue to Reems
Road. This project is an extension of the reclaimed system
to provide additional reclaimed infrastructure to the City's
Spring Training Facility, Youth Baseball Complex and Dream
Catcher Park

16-inch Reclaimed Line along Bullard Avenue from Elm


Street to Paradise Lane. This project is in support of the
Surprise Center Infrastructure and also a roadway project
to develop Bullard Avenue.

Design and construct a 6,000 gallons per minute (gpm)


arsenic treatment plant at the Ashton Ranch Water Supply
Facility. This was a City funded and City constructed
project to treat drinking water to meet the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) arsenic level standards.

Design and construct a 6,000 gpm arsenic treatment plant


at the Rancho Gabriela Water Supply Facility. This is a
developer funded and developer constructed project to
treat drinking water to meet the EPA arsenic level
standards.

Design and construct upgrades to the booster station at


Bell Road Lake.
Design and construct an initial water system for the
Special Planning Area (SPA)3 as it develops. This facility is
planned for 187th Avenue and Deer Valley Road. The
project is planned within the City's 10-Year Capital
Improvement Plan (CIP) with $400,000 projected in FY2014
and $750,000 in FY2015.

Design and upgrade the existing 8-inch Pre-Code Johnson


Well to provide additional water supplies more efficiently
to SPA 2 as it develops. The project is planned within the
City's 10-Year CIP with $500,000 planned in FY2015.

Percentage replacement of ageing water meters based on


FY10 Budget Request.

Complete construction of linear portions of Surprise Farms


Park. Construction shall include addition of restrooms,
basketball and volleyball courts, child play areas, parking
lot, and landscaping.

Convert irrigation system to receive reclaimed water


including initial evaluation, reclaimed holding pond,
signage, painting or replacing valve boxes, and proper
permitting.

oxidation ditch treatment process and reduce electrical
costs.

Purchase assorted new alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles


(SUV's, pickups, Sanitation Trucks, etc.). Also design and
construct at least one natural gas fueling station (eg:
possibly at the proposed SPA3 Public Works Yard or a
shared facility with Dysart School District to be located at
the SPA1 WRF).
