engineering and maths throughout the week. We have been discussing the drought crisis in lead up to the stem
event. Students have drafted an idea in their groups prior

Lesson Introduction Pre talks
 Introducing the topic  Remind students of expected behaviours
 Engagement of the  Inform students of the schedule- first you will be sitting in your groups at the
learners designated area ready to listen to the presentation. You will then be following the
presenter’s instructions on the activity. Your family and friends will also be joining
us. You will have the opportunity to take a break when you need, and there will be
light refreshments available. When you have completed your Dams, we will take
them outside to test and record findings. If you wish you will then have the
opportunity to present your design after we will thank our guest and head home.
 Have students take their draft to the library in their groups
 Ask students to sit in the designated area
Lesson Body  Welcome our presenter and listen to the presentation
 Delivering the  Follow the presenter’s instructions for the task
content through  Begin creating your dams using their drafting papers to record work

 When complete or think they’re complete, take the Dam outside to test how much
water they can hold, students might like to redesign or fix parts
