Week One - Context

CONTEXT

How did you find coming I found coming up with an idea that challenged me for my FMP
up with an idea that quite easy. Firstly we thought that we would want to make a
challenged you enough documentary over making something like a short film because
for your FMP? this was for me one of the harder productions to make and one
that I found most enjoyable. It was also the first ever production I
made on this course so it would be good to see how far I have
come since then as over the year I have picked up many skills
and learnt how to actually work the equipment. Next was
coming up with what the documentary would actually be about.
Me and Jordan my partner for this project discussed topics that
interested us that we thought we could base this one. We then
talked about music and then with what we listened too. From this
we got the idea of how the music industry has changed over
time. After this we came up with the main idea based around
why the music industry has changed due to things such an auto-
tuning peoples voices and big talent shows like the X factor. We
thought this would be challenging because it has not been
explored before in this style and we did not know if there was
much information on this.

How has writing a proposal Writing the proposal helped me with finalising my idea as it
helped you with finalising allowed me to pick apart the different aspects I would need to
your idea? include and create for my documentary to be a successful
production. Writing the rationale helped me decide on the
style/type of production I would create as I talked about the skills
I have and a documentary suited this the best. The concept
showed me about the different elements I would need for
example who I would interview and where this would be. I
realised that I had I good idea of what I could do for all this
before even researching or planning making me want to take this
path.

How did the feedback Feedback helped us to find the angle we wanted to take when
help you adapt your idea making the documentary. At this point in time I have not sent out
– what did you change the second survey as I did not know I had to do this but I will sent
after feedback? it out after this. But instead I went through the idea with a
member of the teaching staff. Originally we were planning on
mainly focusing on auto-tune and its effects but after talking with
Sarah she made us realise that looking into other reasons to why
music has changed because of talent shows like the X factor as
this would have more substance. She also said we should talk
with the music department and apart from this the idea was
good and she was interested.

What work do you need to the task I am going to complete is creating a second survey to follow
complete outside of lessons up the first one talking about now that I have chosen an idea what I
to stay on track? could do to improve it and the parts they like most about it.
