George Lucas

George Lucas is a writer, producer and director known for his successful franchises ‘Star wars’
and ’Indiana Jones’. He was born in 1944 in California. He spent most of high school years racing
until, while driving at age eighteen, he had a car accident, nearly killing him and causing him to
lose interest in car racing. After this, he decided to go at the University of Southern California
and there caught the eye of Francis Coppola, known for ‘The godfather’. Shortly after, he created
his own company LucasFilm, Ltd.

Star Wars became a cult film. At the beginning, all but one studio turned Star Wars down, which
restored Fox economy. Star Wars became a cult film. Then, he was an executive producer and
storywriter of Indiana Jones films. He dedicated a lot of his time to research projects associated
with technology tools with his company Pixar, but so to stop the loss of money; he sold it to
Steve Jobs.

He has been interested in science fiction, including TV shows since he was a child. He also
became good friends with Steven Spielberg. He has been married twice, in 1969 with Marcia
Griffin, they are got divorced and then in 2013 with Melody Hobson, they are still married. He
adopted two children as a single parent. He has won Oscar, Golden Globe, Hugo, Saturno and
Empire award. In 2012, George sold his company to The Walt Disney Company and announced
his retirement. Since 2014, Lucas is working as a creative consultant on the Star Wars sequel
trilogy. He made a change in the way of making special effects.
