 Kuril Islands dispute

The Kuril Islands dispute, also known as the Northern Territories dispute, is a disagreement between
Japan and Russia.

 Kunashir Island

Kunashir Island is the southernmost island of the Kuril Islands, an archipelago under Russian control,
among which Kunashir Island and another three islands are claimed by Japan.

 Falkland Islands sovereignty dispute

Sovereignty over the Falkland Islands is disputed by Argentina and the United Kingdom.

 Senkaku Islands dispute

Senkaku Islands dispute, or Diaoyu Islands dispute, concerns a territorial dispute over a group of
uninhabited islands known as the Senkaku Islands in Japan, the Diaoyu Islands in the People's Republic
of China (PRC), and Tiaoyutai Islands in the Republic of China (ROC or Taiwan).

 Spratly Islands dispute

The Spratly Islands dispute is an ongoing territorial dispute between China, Taiwan, Malaysia, the
Philippines and Vietnam, concerning ownership of the islands.

 Migingo Island

Migingo is a 2,000-square-metre island, in Lake Victoria. The island was the centre of a low-level
territorial dispute between Kenya and Uganda and is extremely densely populated.

 San Juan Island dispute (Pig War)

The Pig War was a confrontation in 1859 between the United States and United Kingdom over
the British–U.S. border in the San Juan Islands, between Vancouver Island and the mainland. The Pig
War, so called because it was triggered by the shooting of a pig, is also called the Pig Episode, the Pig
and Potato War, the San Juan Boundary Dispute or the Northwestern Boundary Dispute.

 Hans Island

Canada and Denmark, both states claimed that Hans Island was part of their territory.

 Hanish Islands conflict

Hanish Islands conflict was a dispute between Yemen and Eritrea over the island of Greater Hanish in
the Red Sea.

 Machias Seal Island

Machias Seal Island is an island in disputed water between both the Gulf of Maine and the Bay of Fundy.

 Navassa Island

Navassa Island is a small uninhabited island in the Caribbean Sea. Located northeast of Jamaica, south
of Cuba. The island is subject to an ongoing territorial dispute between Haiti and the United States.

 Liancourt Rocks
The Liancourt Rocks are a group of small islets in the Sea of Japan. While South Korea controls the
islets, its sovereignty over them is contested by Japan. The islets are known as Dokdo in South Korea
and Takeshima in Japan.
