Breakfast in South America
What does the South America eat for breakfast? That varies from country to country. Do

Argentina
In Argentina, breakfast is a simple meal. The options consider two elements: “medialunas”
and eggs. They are served with coffee and orange juice. Breakfast has yogurt or fruit
which includes apples, bananas or oranges. On Saturday and Sunday, Argentinians have
breakfast in restaurants with their families.
Brazil
A common breakfast for Brazilians includes toasted bread with butter or margarine. Fruits
are very important too. The most common fruit for breakfast in Brazil is the Papaya but it

Colombia
It is very common to eat beans and rice every day for dinner. Then, for breakfast the next
day, the beans and rice are served with eggs, arepa, sausage, chicharrón and hot
chocolate.
Peru
Breakfast is always a family time in Peru. A Simple Breakfast in Peru includes Eggs and
Tamales. Tamales are part of breakfast, lunch and dinner in every region in Peru. Coffee is
a common drink at breakfast time, served black or with evaporated milk. Most Peruvians
like their coffee sweet with a lot of sugar.
