Be Clear!

Complex Sentence: Conjunction+ idea 1 , idea2 , …


• As Jack was waking home, he saw his friend, who had broken his 
arm, and forgot to buy the book he needed for his exam next 
day!

Compound Sentence: 2 simple sentences + a conjunction


• Jack was walking home that he saw his friend. His friend had broken his arm and made
him forgot to buy a book. Jack needed the book for his exam that was the next day!

Simple sentence: Subject + Verb + Object


• Jack was walking home. He saw his friend. His friend had broken his arm. He made Jack
forget to buy a book. He needed the book for his exam next day!
