Some people think that immigrants shouldn’t have equal rights. Immigrant should be

able to have the same rights as every other citizen in the U.S .Today people are protesting that

they should have the right to a education and a future just like any other human. It is being said

that immigrants already have enough rights and the law is in favor for them. Though immigrants

are suffering to find a job, education, and a home to live in because many people are against

immigrants, which is why they should be treated equally as every other person. Immigrants

deserve to have equal rights and be treated the same.

Immigrants are people just like everyone else. These people so called “immigrants” are

people who left their homes in order to begin a new life and to have better opportunities but

some aren't able to reach this goal because they are being refused jobs, education, or any type

of rights. As it shows in the text “As a result, people who are perceived as looking or sounding

foreign – whether or not they are here legally or are U.S. citizens – are refused employment,

medical treatment and housing and are harassed by the police.” This shows how many

immigrants are being refused to have a future in the U.S. The law should protect everyone in

the U.S even immigrants since we should all be treated the same.

Many say that immigrants shouldn’t have rights since they aren't citizens. Though in this

article it says otherwise “"No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the

privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person

of life, liberty or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its

jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."” This shows how the law say that immigrants or
non-citizens have the same rights as all of us and shouldn’t be refused any rights since no state

is allowed to do so. Overall immigrants do have rights and they should have a equal future like

all of us.

On the other hand, some say that immigrants have too many rights. As it states in the

text “American law and policy will discriminate in favor of most immigrants — those of favored

races such as blacks and Hispanics — and their children, and their children’s children.” It is

being said that immigrants already have enough rights and the law is in favor for them. Though

immigrants are suffering to find a job, education, and a home to live in because many people

are against immigrants. However, even though the law says they have rights, the society seems

to think otherwise and demonstrate it by harming or harassing the immigrants. Therefore,

people should start respecting the rights of immigrants as the law states it.

In conclusion immigrants do have rights according to the law. Though many people have

different options on this situation, we should all learn that though they may come from a different

place they should have a future like all of us. Even if the law says that immigrants have rights,

most don’t know what rights they have and some may not be able to defend themselves which

is why I want to do this website/campaign to help immigrants.
