History Project #1

Directions: Choose a topic from the list provided by Mr. King and place your
initials beside it. After you have your topic you are to research it and find 15 facts
about that topic. After you have the topic you may begin to create your poster.
After you have finished your poster, write a Collins writing type two briefly
describing your topic and staple it to your 15 facts. Follow the list below>

Steps and specifics

1. Find 15 facts about your topic. Since the topics come from your book, that is
the best place to start. You may also use your netbooks, but be careful about
what sites you visit so you do not receive false information
2. Create your poster. Your poster is to be done on a large piece of paper
provided by the teacher. It is vital that you use lots of color and as much
detail as you can to create the best visual representation possible. YOU ARE
NOT GRADED ON YOUR ARTISTIC ABILITY!!!!!
3. Your Collins writing is simply a brief overview of your topic. You do not
have to read from it and keep it to only one page. Do not write on the lines
with x’s and make sure to staple it to your facts and turn in on Friday.
4. You must present to the class. Failure to present will result in a deduction of
50 points

Important: You are allowed to use your netbooks, but if you are not finished with
your project you are required to use them only for research on your topic. If you are
caught using them for any other purpose prior to completion to your project, you will be
given a ZERO out of 100. Any other classroom disruptions will result in losses of 25
points per.
