Engagement in the Learning 0=NO 1=Somewhat 2=YES
The technology allows students to focus on 1=
the assignment or activity with less distraction I think that
(time-on-task) the website
has so much
going on, it
could distract
the students.
The technology motivates students to start 2=
the learning process. Seeing how
cool the
website is, I
think that
the students
will want to
create their
own right
away.
1=
The technology causes a shift in the behavior I think that
of students where they move from passive to the students
active social learners. (co-use) would be
trying to
compete with
the person
next to them.
Scratch can
make great
active
learners, but
they could be
social
learners in a
negative way.
They could
start talking
rather than
asking each
other for
help.
Enhancement of the Learning Goals 0=NO 1=Somewhat 2=YES
The technology tool allows students to 2=
develop a more sophisticated understanding Students
of the learning goals or content. (higher-order have to add
thinking skills) in timing
and
different
things to
create
coding that
will
move/sound
the way
they want.
The technology creates supports (scaffolds) to 1=
make it easier to understand concepts or The course
ideas. does help,
and the
tutorial but,
students are
not going to
spend 6 hours
to take the
course.
The technology creates paths for students to 2=
demonstrate their understanding of the Students are
learning goals in a way that they could not do able to
with traditional tools. show their
skills in
coding
Extension of the Learning Goals 0=NO 1=Somewhat 2=YES
The technology creates opportunities for 2=
students to learn outside of their typical Scratch
school day allows for a
fun activity
outside of
school.
The technology creates a bridge between 0=
students’ school learning and their everyday I am not
life experiences sure how
students
can use this
for
everyday
learning/life
experiences.
The technology allows students to develop 0=
skills that they can use in their everyday lives I do not feel
that Scratch
allows for
students to
use this skill
in everyday
life.
