Lesson plan 2 GRAMMAR

Aims:
*students are able to learn correct pronunciation
*students are able to become familiar with new vocabulary from the
lesson
*are able to this lesson extend pupil´s imagination
*students are able to use the correct preposition
Students are already familiar with animals’ vocabularies, instructions,
colours, toys, prepositions.
Level: intermediate 7 graders

procedure:

Song 1 – Hello (2,5 minutes)

Hello girls, hello boys,

Let‘s play let‘s play with the toys.

Come on come on it’s English time,

Let’s play and let‘s have some fun.

Flashcards (5 minutes)

Use flashcards with the pictures of

Show them to children and say their names in English. Ask children

where the mouse is.

Pantomime (5 minutes)

Ask children to make a circle. Children, make a circle, sit down. Yes! Well done!
Now, do you know, what do I have? Yes! It is a box. Clever boy! Demonstrate
getting IN the box, sitting ON the box, sitting (or lying) UNDER the box, &
sitting NEXT TO the box. Get rid of the box & pantomime the same actions.
Children will guess, what kind of preposition is it. If you want to make more
competitive, you can ask each children and if he or she answer wrong, then will
be kicked out of the circle.

Find the correct place (10 minutes)


Each children will be given the picture of the room and the cards with the
pictures which need to be cut out. Firstly, you will ask the children to name the
little pictures which need to be placed and then ask them some question about
the room.

I.e.: What can you see in the room? What kind of room is this? What colours are
in the room? etc.

After this, children will cut out each picture and place it at the correct place.

Rhyme PREPOSITION (5 minutes)

Run very fast then lie on the grass.

Hide behind tree, but you should very quiet be!

Sit on the chair next to the Teddy bear.

Present in the box, is this a fox?

BORDGAME (10 minutes)

Typical board game where children will throw the dice and move according to
the number. Every time they have to choose a card with a picture and say what is
there and include a correct preposition as well. There are also some special
boxes, which involve some special activities.

Moving game (5minutes)

(boxes or something to replace it)


Each children needs to have something to step on, go in, under, next to..You will
say the instruction (go IN, ON, UNDER, NEXT TO, BEHIND, IN FRON OF..)
and children must do it. To make it more fun you can say the instruction faster
and faster and you can compete so who makes it wrong will be kicked out.

Bye-bye song (2,5 minutes)

Bye-bye girls, bye-bye boys,

Come back to play with the toys.

Don’t be late, come in time,

Now say to me bye-bye-bye.

Maybe additional materials could be created. More different activities, more pair
working , different by song perhaps could be required
