This is the story of my broken Vision Clubs:

First of all, I want to say: I love my Flowtoys Vision Clubs. They have brought a great amount of joy into my
life, my social life has improved, I’ve met lots of people through juggling them on the street and in all sorts
of fun and unexpected locations. Since buying them I have become enamored with juggling practice and I
go to our local circus regularly for training.

So it is with great disappointment that I feel it is necessary to report my continual problems with them to
the public.

Here is a list of the problems I’ve had with my Vision Clubs:

Problem # 1: October the 3rd 2018: One of my clubs has a broken radio and thus refuses to join the radio
group, I am in contact with Flowtoys support and send the club in on the 5th of October. On October the
17th a replacement club is sent to me and everything is fine until mid-November.

Problem #2: November the 23rd 2018: Another club has a broken radio, this one is making a rattling noise
when the club is being shaken. It later became clear that the glue used to attach the radio
part to the chip was not cold-resistant and Flowtoys eventually fixed this permanently for all
clubs. On November the 27th another radio is broken and I have 2 broken radio clubs and
one working one. On December the 2nd and 3rd one of the broken radio clubs also has its
battery fail at the same time, first powering off earlier than the other clubs and eventually
becoming completely unresponsive. On December the 4th Flowtoys support decides to send
me 3 new club cores with new cold-resistant epoxy. On December the 18th everything is
working fine again, I have the replacement cores installed and have shipped my broken cores
back to Flowtoys, I have also installed the new firmware and it is working fine.

Problem (self-caused): December the 19th 2018: This one is my fault! I end up accidentally breaking one of
the usb charging ports on a club and have to purchase a replacement core. I request a club
knob is added to my order as I want my club installation to go smooth and everything to
work. On the 28th of December everything is working fine, I have installed the replacement
core and I’m happy again.

Problem #3: January the 8th 2019: I have a battery issue with one of my clubs. I’m juggling an indoor session
at Brightness Level 2. One of my clubs gives the characteristic 3x2 red blinks of a dead
battery after about 1 hour of use, the other clubs are working fine. I get in touch with
Flowtoys and after a bit of back and forth troubleshooting emails, on January the 10th they
tell me that I have a hardware fault and need a replacement core because of a bad battery.
They also say that my problems are unusual and that they have many users who experience
no trouble at all. On January the 17th I have received a new replacement club core, have
installed it and my clubs are once again working just fine. On January the 24th I send the
broken core back to Flowtoys as we agreed.
Problem #4: March the 4th 2019: Another club exhibits the typical signs of a broken battery, instead of
working normally it gives the 3x2 red blinking lights indication and does nothing else. I note
in the email that my juggling is normal use, mostly indoors, some outdoor use, no physical
damage other than dropping and no water exposure. Flowtoys replies promptly and sends
me an invoice for shipping costs of the replacement core which they then proceed to ship
out to me. I receive the replacement core and everything is ok again, for a day.

Problem #5: March the 7th 2019: I have another club failing on me, this one is just completely dead and
unresponsive. I’m starting to suspect something wrong in my environment and tell Flowtoys
as much, perhaps their included charger is broken? I switch to charging my clubs on my PC
instead. We exchange emails and I try resetting the unresponsive club. It also turns out this
one works normally if plugged into a power source but otherwise is dead and does nothing.
On the 12th of March Flowtoys once again decides to send me a replacement club core and
I’m paying half of shipping. On March the 18th everything is working fine again on my end
and I have sent the unresponsive club back to Flowtoys at my expense. I request information
on diagnostics if there is anything that comes up.

Problem #6: March the 24th 2019: I’m juggling an indoor session in the city and after 1h15min of use one of
my clubs stops working and gives the typical 3x2 red blinking lights of a broken battery. After
charging the clubs at home, the broken club stops working completely and only gives the 3x2
red blinks when the button is pressed. I decide it’s time to document my problems.

I get in touch with Flowtoys once again, we exchange emails on diagnostic ideas. On April
the 19th they tell me that the reason for the failures is unknown and may indeed be due to
the cold weather and on April the 22nd they ship out a replacement core for me.

Problem #7: May the 6th 2019: I experience another club failure; this one runs for just 6 minutes and then
flashes 3x2 red blinks and stops working. When charging it either glows green or red. I
contact Flowtoys and they reply on May the 7th that it’s probably an issue with the circuit
board and tell me to ship the broken core over to them. On May 9th I send the broken core
over to them . On May 25th Flowtoys sends me a replacement core shipment.

Problem #8: May the 25th 2019: I’m juggling my Vision Clubs in an indoor hard surface environment at the
local subway station. The club I purchased in April fails and starts glowing red and then
turning off. I test it some more at home the next day. The club runs for 1-4 minutes normally,
then blinks red three times and starts glowing with an orange color. Resetting the club
doesn’t resolve the issue. It’s summer now and there has been no exposure to cold temps or
rain. I’ve used this club for maybe 5 sessions of a few hours each. On May the 26th I contact
Flowtoys about this problem.

Problem #9: June the 8th 2019: A club fails while juggling a summer outdoor session in good weather over
concrete. It just suddenly stops working right after hitting the ground. I take the clubs home
and plug them in to charge. The problem club glows green when charging and works
normally as long as it’s plugged in, even the radio is operating as it is able to communicate
with the other clubs. However as soon as I unplug it from the power source, it stops working
and just completely turns off and stops responding to button clicks. I contact flowtoys
support.
Since April 2019 I own a total of 4 Vision Clubs as I purchased another one just so I could have three when
one of them breaks down. Since Mid-May 2019 I have Anker Powerport and Powerline charging equipment
(the best in the market) to make sure it isn’t the charging environment that is breaking these clubs.

Total Radio Failures due to bad Glue (issue now permanently fixed): 3

Total Battery Failures: 5

Total User Mistakes : 1

My usage environment: I live in Finland where temperatures can get cold in the Winter. I take my clubs
from indoor to outdoor back to indoor environments as I transport them to practice. I sometimes juggle
them outdoors too at temperatures around -5c to +5c. I have also experienced failures during Summer
(Problem #8). At home I’m charging my clubs normally, either via usb wall charger (included in my
purchase) or via usb ports from my PC. The power in my home is ungrounded but otherwise a normal
power source in a modern building.

Each of these problems has incurred shipping costs, I’ve typically payed for return shipping myself while the
shipping costs of parts from Flowtoys to me has been split half and half.

To be fair to Flowtoys, they have responded to all my emails promptly and have always worked with me
resolve my issues. Once we established a relationship of trust, they sent me replacement club cores first
and allowed me to return the broken cores once my clubs were in working order. Lately (May 2019) I’ve
been sending the broken core first though.
