Our resort has swimming pools where you can dip in.

There will be toiletries provided by the resort. However, it is recommended that you bring along your
own toothbrush and toothpaste.

The red filter is meant to ensure that we can adjust our eyes for night vision.

For safety reasons, we recommend that you purchase a Malaysian SIM card or subscribe to an overseas
mobile plan so that we can keep in contact with you throughout the trip. However, it is not compulsory
to do so. Do note that the resort does provide free wi-fi at selected areas (e.g. the resort restaurant),
though reception may be slow.

Food will not be provided during the journey from Singapore to Tioman Island and back to Singapore. It
is recommended that you bring enough food for these long journeys.

Entertainment devices/games are highly encouraged. There will also be fun activities held during the
Free and Easy periods for you to have a memorable time at AstroBash. Furthermore, the resort has a
myriad of facilities available, including Pool, Beach Volleyball, ATV, and Bicycle Rental.

Coach Details
The coach will depart from YIH at 6.00am sharp to ensure we catch the ferry at 11.30am. We will be
assembling at YIH (Outside Saprino’s) on 25th May at 5.30am. It is very important that you are punctual
so as to ensure that the trip goes smoothly! We will reach Mersing Jetty at around 10.30am, and the
ferry reaches Paya Jetty at Tioman Island at around 1.30pm. If you have any problems arriving on time
on that day, please do not hesitate to contact us on the Whatsapp Group Chat, which will be created at
least one week before AstroBash. You may contact Li Xuan (93554320) or Clarence (81134700).

Preparation for Stargazing

Complete beginners are welcome at AstroBash, but if you wish to pick up some observational skills
before the trip, we recommend the following software/smartphone applications:

• Stellarium 0.18.2 for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS

• Google Sky Map at https://www.google.com/sky/ or on Android

 • Night Sky on iOS (Note: there will be many advertisements.)

Other Things to Take Note

During the trip, please stay contactable and accountable for all your belongings to ensure that we all have
a safe and stress-free trip in Tioman Island. J
